  1. I'd rather have Tuch, but there's about a 99% chance he's not getting moved.

As for Anderson, no way I'm trading Casey Mittelstadt for a winger that is 26 years old and has one goal and four points in 26 games.

Tuch would only be available if the return to Vegas in a young defenseman...Risto

Anderson has had a bad year and Columbus is winning w/o him. Also was a hold out before last contract. Columbus could look for D help or younger prospects or picks...Mitts, Tage, 2nd rd picks.

    Barf, no thank you.

I love tuch. Would give up Risto and two 2nd's in a heartbeat for him.

It would cost more than that.

No, and here's why:  If a player is on a streak and trying to break a record or something, and they have a particularly tough opponent on the schedule, they could skip that game to increase their odds of breaking the record.

I'm as disappointed as anyone, but the rule is a good rule.

No professional athlete would skip a game because of a tough opponent...anyone who truly thinks that is crazy and has never played sports.

I'm very happy for Casey.  He is where he should be and should become very happy and full of confidence in a matter of weeks. There can't be anything more frustrating than being a healthy scratch on a team in dire need of offense when that it your forte.

What is kinda sad is that it took this long. Which leads us to speculate as to why the monstrous white elephant was never dealt before this.

Would you be happy and full of confidence being demoted in your job when there are co-workers performing just as poorly as you?

    Didn't think so.

  4. These names are awful. Ryan Reaves? Nic Deslauriers? Radko Gudas? They are garbage and they do nothing for this team.

Josh Leivo? Vlad Namestnikov? Leivo is no better than Girgensons, the Rangers couldn't wait to get rid of Namestnikov.

Pietrangelo is not coming to Buffalo, nor should we want to pay a 30 year old that much for a 7 year deal. (He'll command at least $8M/year.)

Granlund and Haula sound more intriguing. However, I doubt Carolina and Nashville let Haula and Granlund go after just trading for them.

Toffoli should be here already, Botterill needs to step up and make a trade and he should be the target...Galchenyuk is interesting too.

No chance Lehner comes back, Chicago will probably dump Crawford and keep Lehner anyways...Holtby will command way too much for a 31 year old.

I'd rather let our kids battle for open spots. Sign a top NCAA UFA or two (which Botterill hasn't done) and trade for some 24-27 year olds. No need to overspend on aging players who don't fit the core and timeline of this team. We don't need "grit," we need talent. Be smart like the Bills, find good players that other teams don't want.

We have Reinhart, Dahlin, Olofsson, Mittelstadt, and Ullmark, who all need new deals. Draft, develop, keep your own. That's the smart strategy.

EDIT: If we wanted toughness, we should've traded for someone like JT Miller...a tough player who can also put up points.

  5. Why wouldn't he sign here...he's been on record as being a big supporter of Krueger, hasn't he?

I'm sure he also knows Jeff Skinner from their time on Team Canada and both being drafted in the 2010 draft

(Anybody recall the article about what former Edmonton players had to say about Krueger? I can't find it.)

As the Thread Title states. Enough is enough. Who here has the writing skills? We are a community of the Buffalo Sabres fan base, I say we write an articulated response to this continuous season after season nose dive bull *****. I for one am very beyond tired of ownership and management preaching patience in the soup line while serving up crap cubes in water as the soup.

All should have input in this community, post it here. Someone amongst us should then write it up and have it read aloud, directly addressing ownership and management on WGR, on channels 2, 4 and 7, on the Instigators, until it is heard and responded to by aforementioned ownership and management. I can't stand this team, they suck freaking donkey balls.

    Who's with me?

Post up what you'd like to see in such an address here, and please, we have plenty of really talented orators on this sight, someone volunteer to put it together for distribution to the media.

    What say you all?

    A. Good luck getting the opportunity to read a letter on the radio or on tv.

    B. The ownership doesn't care what we think or have to say.

    C. Anything we say or do won't have any impact on what happens with the team...including the employment of the GM and Head Coach.

    Like,

Ok i'll admit im hard on the team more than im positve on it, guess its the way i work cause i demand more from such
elite professional human beeings that does this for millions of dollars. Staying positive is really hard.

Then again were listening to Ralph Kreuger after the game saying among other things:

"There is alot of good things from 5 vs 5 we can bring with us from todays game"
"The guys have a day off tomorrow, you know, well deserved and then we come together for gameday again"

    What is this *****?!

I want to hear, "There is nothing good that we bring with us from this game, the guys would have had a day off tomorrow but i've now decided to bring the group together, we will meet on the ice early morning and we will go trough this game and look at this mess we created tonight, make sure we try to repair these misstakes and try harder next game"

But no, these fancy cupcake words from Ralph makes me wanna puke, he starts to sound like Phil.

I want it to be as real as it is for us fans watching this pile of garbage we saw last night, jesus christ.

No, i do not know how the talk in the lockerroom goes, No i do not know how it is to coach a NHL team, No i do not know how the players feel about this system and the list goes on.
What i do know, is that this is not fkn rocket sience when it comes to form a group of people to pull toward the same goal, no matter what, and that is Ralph's most important part with his job.

And what in the actuall **** did not anyone do something when Dahlin was elbowed to his fkn head, how this team respond to this just tell me how fragile this whole group is and that there is no backbone at all, no red thread and most of all no directions from the coaching staff how you care for eachother.

Im just so sad to see this happen, same with Sobotka, sure there doesnt need to be direct retaliation but i want to see the whole team stand up slamming those sticks against the rink, i want to see coach Ralph absolut furious and demanding the referee to come to the bench.

Nothing, nothing. All Ralph says about this specific situation in the report is "Were emotional connected to this situation so were better off not saying anything about it, lets have those not emotional connected look at this"

    WHAT ?

What kind of signals does this send, "Hey dont care, its fine, your just to emotional", when emotions is what this game really is about, its ok to be wrong but its not ok to not care. WTF!

This is why i was so afraid when Jbot hired Ralph and not Rickard Gronborg, cause i know Rickard would be fkn furious of this situation, Richard has brought ZSC Lions to the nr1 position in that legue now, just to put some reality into it, it doesnt mean Sabres would be in the top position of NHL but it tells you something atleast. Nobody know what would have happend if Jbot would have hired Rickard instead of Ralph, but i know for a fact that he would have made this team care for eachother in a way that it really shows on and off the ice.

All i want is some pure vikingness to this team, american or swedish doesnt matter, i just want a man with a beard that can put this organisation and team back together as a TEAM.

The river im crying can take a whole lot of boats atm, tickets are up for sale - pm me for paypal

Krueger is a schmuck...should've stuck with soccer.

  8. Fire Botterill yesterday...he's done nothing more than Murray and no longer deserves another kick at the can, especially with so much cap space coming up.

The Bills hired the right guys, the Sabres didn't.

Yes, PLEASE, sell the Sabres...I want owners who care.

"The Sabres have made a number of bad trades in which they've parted with valuable assets and not gotten much back (Lehner, E. Kane, ROR), while the Bills haven't done so.'

How does that have so many votes? The Bills got rid of Watkins, Woods, Goodwin, Gilmore, Dareus, and several others, while getting nothing of value in return.

But they traded a D for this D, so it really doesn't make that chain of callups any more possible than it was before.  These minor league trades are always interesting because it's tough for pretty much anyone to figure out what the hell is going on, yet people are still going to speculate about the reasons.

And now my random speculation.  My guess is that Botterill's only involvement in this deal was as a rubber stamp.  Randy Sexton and whoever Tampa's minor league guy is did all the driving here.

    Bingo.

Botterill had nothing to do with this...this is all about helping Cincinnati, nothing more.

Stephens is a RFA this summer and they weren't going to tender him. Might as well see if you can find someone you'll sign to an AHL contract and keep around.
