I wonder if ROR will lose his love for the game after they get throttled the next 2 games.

It probably sucks more getting to the show and crashing, instead of knowing that you won't even get invited.

maybe you'll be correct with the next 2 games, he seemed ok tonight.

I honestly don't remember, I just remember watching live and thinking wtf? I just know it was a 1 goal game in game 7 of a series and that call in the moment mattered more than a subsequent suspension

I think if a Bruin is suspended during the playoffs, it defeats the 'favored' narrative.  It's not like the league has a history of excellent officiating and league discipline.

Who cares? Just because they called a penalty that was an actual penalty doesn't mean that weren't favored the rest of the game or other games.

Chara has never been suspended. Think about that.

I got a warning here just for mentioning a dirty hit by him.

It's OT in the Finals. Boston wins  and good chance the series is over.

It just seems buffalonians always bitch about bias , usually against buffalo , but it gets ridiculous after a while.

Boston is a Most Favored Team.

If that was a Bruin who made that hit, they’ed be talking about that’s just Bruins’ hockey and how tough they are.

    Ingrained biases piss me off.

So when the Blues scored on the delayed penalty in OT... who was favored on that call. An OT penalty on Boston at home? Not a mostly favored status.

Yep that was nowhere near as bad as McAvoy on Anderson last series against Columbus, and that lack of a major may have prevented CBJ to be in the finals now, F the Bruins

wasn't McAvoy suspended for that hit?

The ROR trade was bad. Do you think botterill is incompetent and do you feel worse if ROR wins the cup?

    The trade was bad.

It shouldn't be a reflection on Botterill right now.  But it's a bad look.

I hope St Louis wins, ROR was my favorite Sabre.

Am I the only person that thinks his 30 points in 83 games was actually right on the mark? A hair low but he had an awful Sheary for much of the year and whatever the hell happened on the right for the rest.

right on the mark for a rookie first round pick in general, but not for one that was supposed to be our 2nd line center from the start.  I'm not worried about him yet. Still think he will be a good player.

Exactly, and if so, why hasn't some other club noticed this and snatched him up way before the Sabres? I am cautiously optimistic as well. I hope all these good things said about him are absolutely true. The guy was coaching soccer and has n't been an NHL head coach since what? 2013? Again, I hope he is just what this club needs and I do wish him all the best! My gut instinct tells me different and I honestly hope I'm wrong.

I will say, without realizing he was the Swiss coach, that they always impressed me in the Olympics or World Cup tournaments. They always seemed to pull off some big upsets, although many times it was because of their goalie stopping about 60 shots.  I find the hire pretty interesting, looking forward to seeing how it all pans out.

    Love, love, love this hire!!!

Sabres will be legit cup contenders within 3 years under Krueger...this guy is special...he is a winner and has basically exceeded expectations in everything he has done...

Those in the know consider him a brilliant hockey mind as well...

not to argue, I just don't know enough about him. Where has he won and exceeded expectations.

I'm sure that would be the preferred plan. Especially with Seattles entrance into the league where they'd like to protect him, so that'd be another case to consider for him staying in Roch longer. But i think a lot of what happens in his development timeline will depend on what is happening here in Buffalo with our goaltending situation. If it takes a step back next year & we don't bring in any other free agent goalies, that time table may change & we might see him here a year sooner.

I have a couple friends who live in Finland & they say we got a great one in him so I'm excited about his future. He seems to be right where he should be in his development which is great news for sure!

I don't think there is any way he would be eligible for the expansion draft.

He is not tied for 6th, or 30th for that matter.  There are 21 players who have scored more points in the playoffs.  He is tied for 22nd.

He has the 6th most points in the playoffs, that's what I was trying to point out.  Poor explaining on my part.

He's listed as #30 on the NHL stats page and that's what I go by. 14 players ahead of him have played less games and 15 are no longer in the playoffs. Yes he will likely climb above some and yes he is a good player, but let's not make him out to be the next "face of the NHL". And he is 3rd on his own team, so he is not "leading" his team to the promise land.

Not making him out to be the 'face of the NHL',  not sure that anyone else is either.  He's an excellent player, he plays at critical moments during the games. He's very valuable to their team.

Let's not exaggerate.....ROR is 3rd on his team and 30th in NHL as far as playoff scoring. His biggest asset (face-offs), is at 47.8%....not exactly near his usual 60%.

it's probably an exaggeration, but ROR is playing very well and is helping his team advance. He will likely jump up in scoring as he will play more games than many of those ahead of him.  And he's actually tied for 6th in playoff scoring, but lots of players are tied for 1st -6th.

Dreger mentioned that Keefe will have a short window to interview with teams once his season is over.

Friedman has some good reasons why Keefe would stay put as he is the next head coach of the Leafs.  The question becomes is he willing to possibly wait four years for the role.  A solid offer for a HC Position maybe better than the promise of one. Friedman mentioned his salary for the Marlies is probably north 400,000. Even if they go to a million, the Sabres can match or beat his salary. It comes down to whether coaching Eichel and Dahlin is considered an ideal situation.

Lance Lykowski for the News mentioned there were some talks with Nate Leaman at the Frozen Four.

He could take the Sabres job, get fired after 2 seasons as you do, and then take over the Leafs.

Or Ottawa, Montreal, Islanders, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Carolina, Columbus, Winnipeg, St. Louis, Minnesota, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Arizona, Anaheim...

i would say Montreal, Pittsburgh, St Louis, Calgary and Vancouver are attractive spots for free agency, based either on great hockey towns or quality teams and some semblance of being properly managed.
