How are you guys 2-3 minutes ahead of me?

Not many cuz the Ducks went curve ball.
Oh, big time!

Devils take Luke Hughes to reunite the brothers, no surprise there.
What the heck? I've been listening to NHL Network on Sirius XM Live. 2 minute delay?

He's gone at 3
Nope. Mason McTavish.

He better work on his skating. I think his ceiling is Seth Jones.
...who just got sent to Chicago.

It's official!

Has Ullmark re-signed yet? No? Got to love Eklund. Has he ever had a real scoop?
Why are we even giving that guy the time of day?

Seth Jones going from Columbus to Chicago.

I love it.
This is a bit of a reach on my part, but imagine Boston shipping him off in a package deal similar to a ROR trade 2-3 years from now - and watch the other team be forced to eat a Nick Tahou's Garbage Plate (which is exactly what I feel like when that disaster of a trade made its results known).

Makes me feel like he should have been our captain over jack 😛
IIRC, would he have been the first Finn since Toni Lydman?

Sorry, the first one just spell checked for me, I’m a little sick, so more lazy than usual
I actually found it to be a funny pejorative.

This isn’t even mildly funny to be a joke. My only guess is that it is a smart ass remark, but that wouldn’t make sense because you would have to literally disregard the actual comment to make such an utterly pointless remark.
Yeah, it could have been worded differently IMO. But I don't exactly have a stellar past on here, so I'm not in a really solid position to defend if my comment would have been any better.

I think if the team manages to get its ***** together in front of Ullmark we'll see fewer injuries from him. I think the strain of having to do too much has been a contributing factor.
Back in parts of the 90s, we didn't have a good team either. The only man who kept us from being basement dwellers was Dominik Hašek.

I think you're misinterpreting me maybe? A 90 point pace isn't good enough for the team to make the playoffs or do anything meaningful. They need to be better at nearly every position, including the two goaltender spots.

Quoting Eklund as a source, is as accurate as tossing a lawn dart into the air and hitting ground. He tosses it up and if it lands on the ground, that means it's happening according to that goof.
e1 99% of the time.

I've never liked Milbury. He was always a jerk, on the ice, behind the bench and in front of the camera. I am 100% sure he was not fired just for that comment. He was probably an insufferable jerk to work with. Cancel culture? I hate it too, but I'm not shedding any tears for him
So, IOW, NBC reached a breaking point with him and finally had enough of him.
I can see that rationale.
3 hours ago, Weave said:Milbury was purposefully abrasive. I have no use for people that willfully choose to offend.
Agreed. At the risk of being the pot calling the kettle black for past comments, he could be absolutely obnoxious - not to mention intentionally unfiltered.
Seeing that picture of him and Grapes next to each other in Beantown really spoke volumes.
2 hours ago, Zamboni said:Anything short of a bad sickness or terrible disease or personal tragedy, …. I will never have empathy for Milbury. Go pound sand fella!
Aside from SS, it goes without saying that he is very much hated in the hockey world.
For some odd reason, he has the same problem that General Patton had: he can't keep his mouth shut - and it got both of them in trouble.
1 hour ago, New Scotland (NS) said:Guy is a jerk and is being one in that article.
I agree with @Zamboni and I would never wish any illness, or personal tragedy on anyone, including this most dastardly of the dastardly Bruins.
Not once did I read an apology or even a hint of humility from him.
Context or not, we all have to watch what we say. I know, because I've been over the top in the past. I still make mistakes. I'm no better than Mike Milbury or anyone else, but I would like to think that I can accept correction when I am obviously wrong.
7 minutes ago, PerreaultForever said:In fairness I think he was hired to do that and be that guy. They wanted their version of a Don Cherry (and later for HNIC Burke). That was his role.
IOW, they knew what they were getting. He just went too far one time to their liking.
More than they bargained for.

Well, IIRC, the Flyers haven't exactly been a bastion of FO stability in recent years. I hope he's not in for a rude awakening.

So far Risto isn’t taking shots at Buffalo or the fan base. So no butt hurt feelings right? 😂
Seriously, I wish him well. He was a good soldier for many years.
I'll miss him too. He did have a tendency to be really hard on himself. But with all the chatter going on in here, I realized that the handwriting was on the wall and that he'd be leaving town. Having said that, I want nothing but the best for him post-Sabres.

It has to be.
Honestly I see the Sabres flipping this guy or waiving him and sending him to Roch at some point.
Either that, or some team claiming him off waivers before time runs out.
-
5 minutes ago, Eleven said:
Oh yeah. I'd set the O/U at 25.5 for games played as a Sabre right now.
Plus, if I'm not mistaken, Hagg's remaining contract is considerably lower that Risto's was.

Found on Reddit from a Phlyer fan: "Hagg's kinda like finding a burnt fry in your onion rings. It isn't good, but it's a nice little addition"
I see lots of healthy scratches on him this coming season.

Like how they used a 10 year old kid to announce the pick. Reminds me of when the Bills used Pancho Billa when he was in the hospital a few years ago.
