Its all fake, but were all still shaking off the battered wife syndrome.

Hubby is doing great, no drinking for 6months, counseling going well, but hes coming home from work looking frustrated this week.

Look at all the white knights in here

It isn't misogynistic or wrong to call women, women. If I had said look at all the stupid women in here then you'd have a point

People really search for the things to be offended by these days lol

Ok, back in the day, I was hated on here - and with many good reasons in retrospect. I had my own agenda instead of following the vibe. It's one thing to have disagreements, but it's another to be an obnoxious PITA.

Just some food for thought - unless you're a mental anorexic.

Curse? He built a team that is the best in the world since December

    Some curse

Here's another way to look at it, and you can either take it FWIW or with a grain of salt: in the corporate world, there are good companies that sometimes have bad leadership. At some point, a boss can rise the ranks a little bit with promotions. Once he gets to a point that overwhelms him and/or exposes his incompetency, it's only a matter of time until he's gone. Some players just have no business making the transition from their playing days to the front office. Sure, Kevyn Adams proved that. So did Wayne Gretzky.

If anyone gets the crazy thought in their head that I am any decent sort of prognosticator, get it out of your head as clearly I am not.

I came into the office Tuesday morning to an all hands meeting notice.  And the org President and head of HR were on site.  Cue the Jaws theme.

They are closing the site and exiting the business.  Done.  Finis.

I started my first real job in 1988. I have been swept up in plant closures 4 times now.  About once a decade FFS.

Its a little different for me this time.  I’m 3-1/2yrs out from when I planned to retire.  Will be debt free in a few months. We’re empty nesters.  Have a pretty decent sized nest egg.  And my wife has a good job.  We’ll be just fine.  My coworkers,  I feel for them. Hard.  Been there.

So we are talking about starting my retirement career.  Im not done working. Im done working for a soulless corporation that values stock performance more than they value the people in the room.  The people that are instrumental in the value their stocks actually have. In my younger days I was involved in a couple of not for profits.  I am going to dust off my Rotary contacts and a few others and see who can use someone with 40yrs in engineering, 20yrs of leadership, and a decade with a sales team.  Who knows, maybe I’ll spend the next few years selling mens suits at the local mens shop. Or maybe I’ll find a nearby gin mill that needs a daytime bartender.  All I know is, I don’t have to work for The Man anymore unless I want to.  And I don’t want to anymore.

The good side is, I am employed until October, and the severance package is nicer than I expected.

Still, ***** corporate America and the chase for shareholder value over workers that make that value happen.

    Power to the people.

    Eat the rich.

    ***** the man.

Here’s to doing what I want for the rest of my career. I earned it.

MoneyPuck now have Buffalo with the highest percentage chance at 49.1% of winning the Atlantic, followed by TB at 36.8%, Habs at 8.6%, Bruins at 2.2% and Send at 1.1%.

What a turn of events this would be if the Sabres go from worst to first within 4.5 months...

Unless I'm mistaken, no one saw this coming before Adams got sacked. Literally nobody.

Considering his father passed away unexpectedly shortly after the gold medal game I don't really see a need to pile on.

And his dad died! Oh wait, my guess is you probably didn't know that

First I'm hearing about this. We don't have to like his team, but it was a nice touch for those who did pass on their condolences to him and his family. Sending mine his way too.
