He wasn’t good enough then.  He sure as hell won’t be good enough now.

Wouldn't say he avoided it like the plague, but he didn't initiate it after returning from injury either.

Can you trust any player development from the bad old days?

He may want to come back, but KA and DG may not think that he’s a good fit - especially with how things started to gel in the last 2 months of the regular season and with a blue line corps that is already getting better now that Power Play is in the lineup.

that was funny sh1t. (also, i thought maybe he licked his visor?)

i would take marchand on my favourite team every day of the week, and twice on sunday for a 7:00 pm start after a 1:00 pm bills game.

shoot - i'd be delighted if the sabres had a player who could be accurately described as "a poor man's marchand."

Would you like to call Jarkko Ruutu out of retirement?

  3. So gas prices are at an all-time high. I get it, and so does everyone else here. What baffles me is that the ones who are complaining the most are the same people who have the worst driving habits - including truck drivers - when they have no one else to blame but themselves but who still insist on blaming others for “impinging” on their blank check finances. Needless to say, they’re also the very same idiots who help keep accident attorneys in business, since they all must have taken lessons from the Pelle Lindbergh Driving Academy.

I don’t feel sorry for them at all.

$20 to your local SPCA says the Bills won’t win the SB next season.

IF the Bills do win the SB next season, I’ll throw $20 at your local SPCA.

Nope. He needs to livestream eating a Burns Supper for all of us to see.

I’ve used Marketplace multiple times.  Never let a stranger into your house.  Do the deal outside.

My experiences have all been reasonably good

Spot on. I’ve done the same things.

One other thing about FB. I was never shy about checking out someones FB activity prior to responding to them.

This too! We all known that FB stalking gets frowned upon, but it also helps to know who you’re dealing with.

  6. Ok, so I never got around to explaining my conundrum between two different jobs. I had committed to doing a job change a few months ago until my then-employer rolled out a really hefty pay and bonus increase. I was looking at a potential of 6 figures for the first time ever in my driving career. Sounds good, right? Not if you’re never home.

My wife and I kept going back and forth over how we could make that situation better. Do we move closer to my job so I could at least have a little bit more time at home? Does she need to adjust her schedule? Just a whole mess of things that just caused a great deal of stress.

So, my  dispatcher decided one day that he was going to ignore a request for a doctor’s appointment that I put in well enough in advance. I was already on a load going from Virginia to Portland, ME. I even specifically asked not to be put on a backhaul. But even while I was on the phone with him about a different issue, he texted me a backhaul dispatch. I asked him what it was, and that’s when he told me about it. He even tried to assure me that I would make it back in time for my appointment (which I didn’t). I kept my cool with him while I was on the phone with him, but my next call was to my wife. I told her that I’d made up my mind and that we were leaving that company ASAP. After I explained to her what happened, she reminded me that this was not the first time they’d pulled that stunt.

Now we are back in Alabama. I took a considerable pay cut, but being home and not feeling so exhausted is worth far more to me. Had I stayed put, I know that I would have put myself in an early grave.

The thing that drives me mad in parking lots is the people who keep on driving or even speed up when they see someone backing out of a spot.  We've all been in that spot trying to back out so everyone should know how limited visibility is.  Just stop and let the person out.  All the lots down here have the diagonal spots, which makes the visibility even worse.  There's a risk every time you start that backup and there's really nothing you can do about it.

And that’s what keeps accident & injury lawyers in business.

If everyone actually took the time to drive safe & legal, those guys would be out of a job.

Brian Gionta has spoken critically of Eichel.  Not pinning all of the organization’s issues on him, but he has been critical.

Petey has also been very harsh on him on ATW.

    He's quite an "over-actor"

I would tell him to look closer at the Sabres / Leafs games, especially the outdoor game for the clues to why the Leafs are who they are....😜

His “Dang-It” videos are fun to watch, though.

Don’t watch this video. I know you are not going to want to watch this video.😀

This was just freaking hilarious! He sure does know how to mix together Sam Kinison with Jermaine “Funnymaine” Johnson.

All coaches are hired to be fired.  Isn't that the general rule in all pro sports.  Also how many coaches have every won a Cup with more than one team besides Bowman? The answer is 1 and that is Dick Irvin in the 1930's and 40's with Tor and Mon.   Ruff, Maurice and Vigneault all have 722 to 7823 wins and zero Cups.

Good coaches usually have to go through the carousel a few times before finding the right situation.  For example, Quenneville got his during his 3rd job, Trotz his second, Laviolette his second, and Sutter his 4th.

I guess Lou being Lou decided it was time to put his stamp on this version of the NYI.  Hard to question Lou given his track record.

How true it is that all coaches are hired to be fired. Bum Phillips would totally agree with you.

Florida damn lucky tonight. Just shows you how a series can turn in a few moments.

Except the Predators didn't play all that physical in the series. I think it's clear they pretty much lost their will to live when Saros got injured. They knew they had no real shot without him and played like that for the most part. Yes, their fill in goalie played well, but that wasn't enough to reignite their desire.

Also, to your ongoing thesis, yes, you need the talent, everybody knows that, but not just the talent, and the two are not mutually exclusive. Don't know why you can't get that.

Just like the 98-99 Sabres. They worked their tails off to get to the Cup final.

I love the way he referenced and worded the VGK game. Instead of giving “that other guy” any further free advertising, he lauded TOG’s replacements and their performance.

No need to further let TOG live rent free in their heads (or ours). They’ve clearly moved on from him, and are looking to build with their current roster/chemistry.
