  1. By the will of the sports gods, YES!!!!!!!
  2. Hopefully he packed a goalie. ;)
  3. It's almost like history repeating it's self. Back in '78 Chuck Knox joined the Bills and then in '79 Bowman joined the Sabres. This season Rex Ryan joined the Bills and now Mike Babcock is about to join the Sabres.
  4. Not when sh!ts getting real.
  5. Yes!This City is on the upswing. Keep the momentum going.
  6. #7 Winning a Stanley Cup in a city where Scotty Bowman couldn't get it done.
  7. On Hockey Hotline they made an interesting point on Larsson, does Mike Babcock's success with European players in Detroit make the Sabres more inclined to keep a player like Larsson?
  8. #15 Most Dangerous Cities in the US. 31 Buffalo, NY 30 Newark, NJ 29 Washington, DC 28 Atlanta, GA 27 Trenton, NJ 26 Birmingham, AL 25 Bridgeton, NJ 24 Jackson, TN 23 Milwaukee, WI 22 Fort Pierce, FL 21 Spartanburg, SC 20 Rockford, IL 19 Little Rock, AR 18 Baltimore, MD 17 Homestead, FL 16 Cleveland, OH 15 Newburgh, NY 14 St. Louis, MO 13 Harvey, IL 12 Myrtle Beach, SC 11 Alexandria, LA 10 Memphis, TN 9 Wilmington, DE 8 Atlantic City, NJ 7 Flint, MI 6 Bessemer, AL 5 Oakland, CA 4 Saginaw, MI 3 Detroit, MI 2 Chester, PA 1 Camden, NJ
  9. I get ya. IMO, Girgensons is a better equivalent to Silfverberg than Grigorenko. In talking trade value, Grigorenko is a nonstarter, Girgensons turns the conversation serious.
  10. He is 5th in playoff scoring with 13 points and a +6 so I can see the surprise. Did you mean to say the Senators won the trade. The third sentence goes against the first two. When you get traded for a Bobby Ryan I am going to guess there are great expectations.
  11. Silverberg played the entire 48 game NHL season in 2012-13 where he scored 10g & 19pts. I'd do handstands if Grigorenko put up those numbers for the Sabres next season.
  12. Silfverberg was light years ahead in 2012-13 of where Grigorenko is now. It was pretty clear Silfverberg was going to be an NHL player, Grigorenko has a long way to go to get there.
  13. I'm sorry, in what universe are Silfverberg and Grigorenko "equivalent?" Or did you mean to type Girgensons?
  14. I would go into a deep depression if the Sabres trade Zach Bogosian.
  15. Why would Colorado even consider this deal? They are giving up the best player in the deal and the #10 pick for what? They can pickup a Georges in free agency and Pysyk is a huge question mark. I like Girgensons, no team is giving up a top six forward and a top 10 draft pick for him. You wouldn't think there would be a bunch of teams interested in a 25 year old center that can play both ends of the ice? If the Av's put O'Reilly on the trade market someone is going to over pay. i wouldn't count out any team. I can see teams looking at O'Reilly as a finishing piece of their puzzle.
  16. If I thought Colorado would take this deal I would pick up Tim Murray and drive him to Colorado myself to pick O'Reilly up and bring him to Buffalo. While I'm there, who wants brownies? :flirt:
  17. IMO, any value lost due to O'Reilly's contract status would easily be made up due to O'Reilly being only 25 next season.
  18. I would never even considering comparing Hall to Toews. IMO, they are not even close when it comes to a value of a player. I wouldn't give up Toews for Hall, Nugent-Hopkins and Eberle combined. Hall maybe a tad above O'Reilly in value, nowhere near the difference between Hall and Toews. You're not getting O'Reilly for a combo of Zadorov, Pysyk, Grigorenko, Moulson and Georges and some picks. If the Av's could do far better than Moulson and Georges in free agency. Not sure what value Grigorenko or Pysyk have at this point and Zadorov is a futures. The Av's will be selling what they will bill as a legit top 6 forward. They are going to want a top 6 forward or equivalent in return. Today, right now, the only top 6 forward the Sabres have is Kane and Girgenson. If the Sabres are going to acquire O'Reilly the price is going to hurt a bit.
  19. That 1991 draft could be a good sign of things to come for the Sabres. In '91 Lindros was the Connor McDavid of the that time, look at what happened, the best player in that draft was picked 6th behind such all-time greats greats as Scott Lachance, Aaron Ward and Pat Fallon. Things just don't always turn out as planned.
  20. Can any team afford to pay a third line center $8 mil a year. If the Sabres have done a good job drafting than wouldn't O'Reilly be slotted behind Eichel and Reinhart?
  21. The more I see and read about Jack Eichel the more i feel like the Sabres won the lottery by finishing 2nd. Let the Oilers follow conventional wisdom while the Sabres pick the best player in the draft.
  22. I can agree with this. I don't know if this is the right time or if this is the right player to make this type of move with. We can all talk about the talent the Sabres have in the pipeline, problem is, neither the Sabres or we the fans truly know what the Sabres have at this point. A deal for O'Reilly is a huge risk for a franchise in the Sabres position. If O'Reilly can come to the Sabres and be the poor man's Toews then the move can really accelerate the progress. If the Sabres deal for O'Reilly and all he is just OK it can stymie the progress and set the franchise back years. I would prefer to stand pat at this time and wait to see who becomes available down the line.
  23. I'm suggesting a package that includes Ennis. There would have to be substantial assets to go along with Ennis. The Av's would still have to sell this to their fan base, letting O'Reilly go for "futures" on the heals of Stastny leaving, as was mentioned earlier, would be a hard sell. They need to to have someone that can be plugged in to the NHL roster and produce right away. Does Ennis get it done? I doubt it, problem is Ennis is the best the Sabres have to offer. If other teams, like the Oilers, want to get involved they can easily beat the Sabres best offer in a trade. I can see a player like Hall being very attractive to the Av's. As was mentioned earlier, the Av's are a team on a budget. Hall is a fixed cost at $6 mill through 2019-20.
