  1. This was the eye-catching paragraph: I am proud of the work our group has put in, but the majority of the work still lies ahead. We’ve started to see some results but are not comfortable with where we are at and the coaches, players, and myself all know that there is room to grow. But that’s the exciting part. We have players like Tage Thompson, Dylan Cozens, and Mattias Samuelsson signed to long-term extensions, and we know they have not hit their ceilings as players. They are going to continue to get better, just like the rest of our players. Knowing that pushes me to keep my focus on building this the right way for you, our most loyal fans, and the city of Buffalo. ”The majority of the work still lies ahead”. This seems to suggest caution, that we are early in the process. At first I thought it could be a suggestion they intend to raise expectations next season, but consider the context of the entire paragraph: it’s entirely about progress via development - “They are going to continue to get better, just like THE REST OF OUR PLAYERS”. Pretty confident on not only the idea Thompson hasn’t reached his ceiling, but that ALL of our players are going to. Our current players, being the rub. ”Knowing that pushes me to *KEEP MY FOCUS ON* building this the right way for you...” KEEP my focus on...lot of way to go still.....plenty of internal improvement to come... Like I said it’s clearly demographic dependent but the message here is clearly much more interested in “stay the course, long road ahead” than any inclination about when to EXPECT and of the sustained winning it mentions. I find stuff like this interesting, the messaging they send out. In the end all that matters is the results, if our improvement trajectory continues it doesn’t really matter WHAT he says. As mentioned before, i do hope the messaging for next season becomes more about playoffs
  2. Totally. Was just a little surprised by the wording b/c it’s more in reference to NEXT season
  3. There isnt any question, imo, who the mvp of this team is. Tbh I don’t think it’s particularly close
  4. Morrissey the lone bright spot (4 points, to surpass Dahlin) as Jets lose yet again and are in danger of missing the playoffs after sitting 1st in the west
  5. Like I said countless times when people were lamenting schedule difficulty: not who you play, it’s when you play em
  6. Dahlin injury taking the wind out of my posting sails. be back tomorrow
  7. Something something evil Ricky Bobby so, lower body
  8. I remember what it was like the last time we made it. It’ll happen again. Don’t really understand the doubt. I think people that don’t expect wild change when that day comes are underselling and continue to undersell how wild our run of ineptitude has been I truly think they defer to the medical opinion: cleared or not. You often see fans suggest the “I wouldn’t play him just because” thing but I don’t think it works like that. I think if he’s healed he plays
  9. One time I was at a Bombers game here and the BC Lions players were throwing snowballs at the fans and we were throwing them at the players and one I threw was caught in majority by a BC player and he looked at me and took a bite. Not kidding, also not that interesting but that’s my story
  10. I guess I just expect the majority of the tickets to our first playoff game in a decade to be purchased by sabres fans
  11. But the dolphins fans didn’t take over the building did they? my point wasn’t that there would be nary a bruins jersey far as the eye could see
  12. I feel like if there was a chance he could make whatever the injury is more severe by playing they’d sit him out regardless, so he’s either healed and good to go and he’s in, or he’s not healed and he’s out. If it’s been pain tolerance probably stays that way too, and it’s down to the player. My guess is they go with medical opinion on this kinda stuff to a T rather than “well, he’s been given the green light but we’ll hold him out one more game to be extra sure” unless it’s a concussion with often more difficult to pin down symptoms. I think it’s as simple as he plays if he’s ready and he doesn’t if not. Just imo.
  13. There’s a lot of speculation this at least could be the case. I sure hope not. i believe if he goes in IR it can be retroactive to Monday, meaning the soonest he could be back is our game this COMING Monday: but we have 3 games in between including today. Also not sure if he’d also have to be out that Monday re: the 1 week minimum rule
  14. Wouldn’t happen in the playoffs. We’ve been starving for it for a decade!
  15. I don’t find the plan exasperating. Creating straw man arguments my guy. Ill disagree with your reading of the GM re: adding a G next season. I think many aspects of the process changes when the core has been identified and it’s time to take the next step: that is to say, the principles by which you are claiming it’s easy to predict what Adams will/has done this current season haven’t been established yet, for next season. I agree with the likes of Brawndo when he said now that the core is identified it means Adams realizes the strategy shifts and Dudacek when he says Adams is using the FULL season to evaluate the goalies. If that’s the case, and there is indeed an evaluation going on, that means logically the evaluation could be failed and presumably an addition / upgrade made. For me to suppose the evaluation might be in the process of a fail is hardly an observational leap. I think it depends
  16. I just need to know if Rasmus is playing
  17. Not actually what he said. Close, but there’s a distinction where you are incorrect: he said he wasn’t going to make deals that *harmed* the future. Not a full stop refusal to give up significant future assets in a deal that helps the now. If we could hypothetically add good young pieces that help now AND in the future, ie players that fit our current core’s age group, I do not believe we’d be harming the future by dealing significant assets in the deal. We just aren’t trading significant future assets for pieces that are ONLY for short term gain in the hypothetical situation Saros could be had, I think he’d fit the bill. He’s the same age as Tuch Thompson and Skinner
  18. I’ve responded to this 1000 times: I don’t have the contacts that Adams has. I don’t have *a* contact Adams has. That I cannot tell you who Adams SHOULD add doesn’t go anywhere towards proving there aren’t options. It’s not my job. Having the opinion that the goalie needs to be and should be upgraded is the opinion in itself I’m *not* advocating for a G add this season. You must have missed that. I already know it’s not happening. You also must have missed the fact I have human eyes because you have an odd habit of spending a good portion of your posts stating and belabouring the obvious yes, I know we have 3 goalies. You’ve found a way to make “we have 3 goalies on the roster and these are our goalies because these are the goalies on the team and they are the goalies on the team because they are the roster’s goalies” your running point now for a good many posts directed at me
  19. I’m just glad Adams agreed with me on Bloom, anyways. wish the kid success
  20. McDavid gets his 50th
  21. Personally I never really pay much attention to the audience score on rotten tomatoes
