  1. I meant that he didn’t add any coming into this year. I just added “last couple” so I didn’t have to deal with the “but who even was there?!” excuse, like it matters when it’s been since he took over that he hasn’t adequately addressed the position i don’t believe in the “goalies can be unpredictable thus a GM isn’t required to field competent goaltending” farce narrative
  2. Its a clear case of stats don’t lie. Look no further It’s not even good D. He’s just making some really nice saves. Ya know, playing really well. Which you can actually ask your goalies to do! Goalies can be your best players! They don’t need to just be “not the problem”. Shocking to some I am sure lol
  3. A plan that paid little consideration to timing (below average GT play in the interim from 2/3, costing standings points), and as mentioned in the offseason, Swayman’s play in Boston last year was nearly as important as Ullmark’s: in today’s NHL it’s really about having 2 guys. *Had* we acquired a competent vet back up in the last couple years, combined with UPL we’d presumably have 2 solid options right now and Levi would be developing in Rochester You do touch on an interesting point that KA probably expected it to be Levi: our LT confidence in Levi shouldn’t be shaken, so b/c UPL was a somewhat unexpected development, we could find ourselves with 2 guys. Just hard to say IF, and specifically WHEN
  4. I didn’t see that all too often with UPL. For my part, I’ve utilized that argument with Comrie, full disclosure. Failure to establish a foothold after a decade makes it unlikely he ever will. UPL always had time. It doesn’t mean betting on him to be good this year wasn’t a risky bet: proof is in the pudding how that stuff works. Of the 3 goalies Adams bet on to start the year, only 1/3 has been good
  5. It’s possible. As far as I know I’ve only seen one notable poster ever go that far
  6. The board said he was poor-to-below-average when he played poor-to-below-average and sings his praises when he plays really well and his numbers look really good what am I missing? Is this unexpected?
  7. If someone said: “they’ll start 10-10-2, but UPL will definitively elevate to starter quality” I’d probably have taken it. We don’t know he’s that, yet, but if he is, we’ll be in a pretty good spot imo to make a good run at it
  8. Ok, it’s the gold team’s turn for a victory lap tonight next game: blue team up
  9. Levi can draw inspiration from UPL. Look how many years it took UPL to find his niche as a number 1? With proper dieting and a strict workout regimen there’s no reason Levi can’t also be 217 pounds
  10. Dunleavy didn’t make a very big deal of that great UPL save on the breakaway
  11. They don’t look like the best team in the league…
