NSH (1st overall) met the Jets (2nd overall) in the 2nd round last year...
-
Pysyk, Borgstrom and a 1st for Trouba this off-season. Then, fittingly, the team is moved to Quebec City...
-
Laine got two tonight and Ehlers got a hatty but the Jets almost blew ANOTHER 3rd period lead. They were up 6-2 and won 6-5. Been blowing 3rd period leads all season long. They have already lost way more games in the 3rd than they did all last year. Pitt came back in the 3rd two days ago...Minny did it about a week and a half ago and the Sabres did it 2 weeks ago and this is just off of the top of my head. This team won't go far in the playoffs if this isn't fixed. Helle isn't playing that well and the team D isn't nearly as good as it was last year.
-
Howe played over 400 in the WHA as well...
-
I didn't mention discount but he will get around 10m per season if not more.
-
They aren't stupid enough to let it go long enough so other teams can make an offer sheet.
-
The Leafs will sign Matthews, for more than 4 years, before the offer sheet window opens.
-
Johnson let in 6 goals in 25 shots and Allen let in 2 goals in 11 shots. Laine scored 5 goals in 5 shots this game. Little and KC with 4 assists each. Jets had enough of a lead in the third to win this one I guess...I know it's a win but we've got to stop allowing these goals in the 3rd period. We had Minny 2-0 after the 2nd yesterday and they won 4-2... I forgot, congrats on 1st overall!!!!!

I think Sturm will be the HC in LA next year. St. Loo should throw the bank at Q but I hope they don't...I'd like to see him out of the division. Laine with a hatty tonight. Two even strength goals and one EN. KC is a keeper. He drives the Little line.
-
Management was expecting big things in St. Loo with all the changes. I've never liked him as a coach.

The Jets are on the road for 4 games in 6 nights starting Monday. Also, I have to give credit where credit is due and it isn't easy. Myers and Morrow (M&M) didn't play half as bad as they usually do. -

We actually switched first round draft picks and you guys got the higher pick if I'm not mistaken. I believe Tkachuk had broken his leg and slipped down the draft that year. Smith was a dick for trading Hawerchuk. No matter what their return, you won't win that trade. -

I can't find this year's stats but last season the Jets average height was 74.1 (1) inches...weight was 204.8 (6)...age was 26.8 (9 tie). My take on tonight's game... Maurice is playing Scheif's line (Ehlers scheif Wheeler) against the other team's top line and if he can't get that matchup, Lowry goes out...I prefer Lowry's line as the checking line but that's me. Lowry is a big dude and knows how to use his size unlike other unmentioned cough Myers cough players. The PP has been on fire the last little while and I think they have scored 3 PP goals in the first 7 or so seconds of the PP in the last couple or 3 games. Stay out of the box as much as you can...PP is 34% right now. Wheeler is the qb from the halfboard and has 21 assists this year. If you take away Laine, Scheif will get you. Doesn't look like Niku is getting to play (too bad) and Brossoit (3-0-0... 0.957 sv%) is in goal. Myers, the 3rd pairing 5.5m dollar man has been putrid in is own zone as per usual. He's usually not too bad on the PK but he hasn't been very good there this season either. If he is out against one of your better lines, advantage Sabres. His partner, Morrow, is much worse. I truly believe the only reason he is on the team is because Trouba isn't signed long term (and probably won't be). Speaking of Trouba, Maurice will try to get Trouba and Morrissey out every time Eichel's line is on the ice. If you guys have a big line, expect to see Buff and Chiarot as the D pairing on the ice. The other lines will probably be KC Little Laine Copp Lowry Tanev Petan Roslo Perreault D pairings JMo Trouba Chiarot Buff Morrow (awful) Myers Brossoit/Helle -

How has Bogo played this year? Why is Dahlin on the 3rd pairing? I hope to see Niku on D and Maurice said Brossoit is starting. I'll be there drinking $10.50 Shock Top pints!!! -
I should have mentioned that he almost looked like Mario Lemieux in his two games in Helsinki so it is obvious he can hockey...maybe he's lazy...maybe he want s to get home and play games on xbox or whatever kids use nowadays...I'd sit him for a good two or three games and let him watch from the pressbox but that's me. He's been playing on the Lowry line with Tanev and that is our checking line but I think the lines changed last game and he played with KC and Little. So far, the Little/Laine combo hasn't shown much chemistry at all. He looked good when he has played with Scheif and he and Ehlers looked good with Stastny last year but his year his play is suffering. Good year for a dwonturn as far as salry negotiations go though...the Jets should save some bucks if he doesn't snap out of it soon.

He's got 8g and 2a in 17 games and I think his one 5 vs 5 goal is an EN goal? In my opinion and I know it is a hockey cliche but he isn't moving his feet. He just stands there and watches plays develop. He's 6' 5" and well over 200 lbs. and it surprises the hell out of me if he wins a board battle. I'm not sure if it's laziness or low IQ or what but something has to change. His shooting is world class and his passing is very, very good but he has a lot to learn about playing a pro game in North America if you ask me. Having said all that, the Jets won't split up Wheeler and Scheifele and they can both drive a line. Wheeler on the wing with Little and Laine on the wing with Scheif and fill in with KC and Ehlers should be given at least 5 games but who am I? What do I know really. It is only an opinion from what I have seen of Laine and the team this year. I think Maurice doesn't want to switch things up because the team is putting up points and coaches like wins but I'd put a line with Kyle Connor Scheifele and Laine together. That'd leave the 2nd line of Ehlers Little Wheeler.

Helle was great last night but Brossoit is starting on Friday. He is unbeaten this year in three games. He has 5 goals against and has a .957 sv%. This will be the last game of a 4 game homestand after coming back from Finland.
-
Truthfully? As long as it's a good game, I don't care. Birthday weekend, I'm getting juiced.
-
Kulikov was just getting back in to shape after back surgery and he got hurt against the Avs on Friday and is out for a month. The Jets called up Sami Niku (D man of the year in the AHL last year) but he hasn't played yet. I think he will play this Friday against the Sabres. Going to the game and I am looking forward to seeing Niku, Eichel, Dahlin, Mittelstadt and Skinner in person. Just a word or warning, the Jets 2.0 are batting 1.000 with me in attendance.
