  1. I am going to see if that Carolus is available here.
  2. Estrella is my favorite but I want to try more Inedit.
  3. Irish? It has warmed up to -30 with -32 with the windshield. Mexico still can't come soon enough! The way they have been playing lately, they would be happy to make it to overtime.
  4. Beer, kubasa and perogies, I'm ready for the game. I also have cabbage rolls (holobchi) and some Jack Herer. The Jets have lost 3 in a row (regulation) for the first time since the 2016-2017 if I'm not mistaken. Here's to a good clean game where nobody gets blown out.
  5. Actually, Lemaire was a center for the Habs. He had Lafleur and Shutt as wingers for 4 or so years at the very end of his career. He was also more of a playmaker than a sniper. Unheralded as a defensive player but he was a good two way center.
  6. If the Jets go after someone, I think it will be a center and I don't think Toffoli was playing C for the Kings. Dzingel is a LW I think and Ferland, a Manitoba native, is also a LWer. I hope they stay away from Hayes, too. Staal would be nice, if available. Duchene would be too costly...I want no part of Brassard...Schenn would be nice but he'd cost more than we paid for Stastny because of his extra year. I'd give up a 1st and Petan or even as high as Comrie for Staal, especially if he re-signed for two more years. I can also see Chevy picking up a D man for depth...maybe something like a 4th rounder or something for a D man.
  7. I heard that too. He has one more season at 894k so it isn't about cap issues. He's a player that will be very important for the team going forward as he will not be making BIG money. They're trying to groom him for 2C but I t hink his future is on the RW...Laine and Wheeler play RW though...I am guessing he is on there because that is who other teams are asking for. He's a keeper but Maurice is bringing him along slowly. He averages just over 9 minutes a game. He usually plays on the 2PP and is a great skater that has excellent acceleration. Defensively responsible in all areas of the ice. A good shot and good IQ. He always comes in at the number one spots for all the tests they do when everyone first shows up for TC...2 or 3 years in a row now. His biggest flaw in his lack of consistency if you ask me. I'm glad Maurice has the option to bring him along slowly. Inconsistency seems to be one of the biggest things with youngsters. It's a grueling schedule, especially when you are travelling like some of the teams in the west travel. I heard Pitt wanted Lowry for Brassard!!! That must have been a quick convo. As far as shutting down Getz and them (Perry's first game back by the way), it is usually Lowry's line that goes up against the other team's top lines but Maurice is fine playing Scheif's line as well. Lowry is a beast and the shift is usually spent cycling in the O zone. It is our 4th line that has really picked it up lately. Lemieux has shown some soft hands and Appleton and he are gelling with Copper. If only Laine would wake the fack up from his deep sleep and start playing hockey again...he scored 18 goals in November and has scored 4 since then. I'm not sure what the problem is but I wish he'd wake up...Maybe Minny will fall in the standings and trade us Staal at the TD. As far as the coach goes, I am more than happy with him but he has his detractors...fans have been calling for his head since he was hired...you can't keep firing coaches and GMs...you have to make a plan and stick to it...the owners and the GM and the coaches have all got to be on board with it...consistency in management accounts for a lot if you ask me.
  8. Roslovic with a hatty last night.
  9. -53C with the wind here last week...-63.4F Getting cold again next Thursday or so...pretty sick of it
  10. -46C here forecast for Wednesday morning. That is -50.8F. -8C or 17F for Saturday.
  11. Hold on to those picks and draft wisely. Give JBot time to build his team and get rid of some contracts. Posters here won't like this but the best thing (long term) the Sabres could do this year is finish low and get another quality player in the draft and don't let those picks play until they are ready is another thing some teams do with youngsters. Some players will have a lot of success in the NHL but it doesn't have to be the year or year after they are drafted. Give JBot time to build his team and get rid of some contracts and I think the Sabres are contenders in 2-3 more years.
  12. I'm just glad the water leaving the well to the house hasn't frozen. Cabo can't come soon enough.
  13. -42C with the wind last night...-43.6F.
  14. RyJo gets 2 games for a tomahawk chop on Scheif's head. He is a dirty player and deserved more. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/predators-johansen-hearing-high-sticking-jets-scheifele/
  15. Here's a stat for you... Since joining the league...Rask has .481 points per game. Niederreiter has .464. Pretty even if you ask me.
  16. They are similar players and Rask plays center so I think it is a pretty even swap to be honest. I'd give the edge to Minny if anyone.
  17. Oilers are looking for scoring and are prepared to pay. "the team could be willing to part with their first-round pick, a goaltender, (and) maybe a young developing forward." Is Puljujarvi packing his bags? Talbot too? An Edmonton Journalist wrote Monday that he interprets Rishaug's report to mean that Kailer Yamamoto, Tyler Benson, Cameron Hebig or even Jesse Puljujarvi could be on the move depending on the Oilers' return - in addition to one their NHL goaltenders and a first-round pick. edit ... How does that GM still have a job? Lucic for another 4 years at 6m per and they are only 2.25m away from the cap not counting ELC bonuses. A waste of McDavid's talent.
  18. I don't think Wheeler belongs there to be honest. I'd put Scheifele there before Wheeler. Scheifele would be much harder to replace than Wheeler regarding an injury. You could probably insert any team for TO and it would be a mismatch. TB will probably win the cup this year.
  19. St. Louis would probably part with Schenn for the right price but I think they would want a fortune. He has a 5.125m AAV until the end of next season. I think they will trade him at the TD but it will be a big overpay. He's a good playmaker that is capable of putting up lots of points with the right wingers.
  20. Myers won't be moved. He'll walk in free agency or Chevy will re-sign him. When Buff has been out this year, Myers has played way over 20 minutes and not looked bad. When Buff is in, Myers has looked absolutely horrible. He should have been traded the year after he was acquired. As far as the youngsters being around for the first playoff run, that all depends who you call youngsters I guess. Ehlers, Connor, Morrissey, Roslo, Copp (played 1 regular season game), Tanev, Laine, Petan Lemieux, Appleton, Hellebuyck, Brossoit and Petan? all weren't here. That's 13 players off of the 23 man roster that weren't here for that playoff run and only Brossoit, Lemeux, Appleton and Petan? weren't here last playoffs. So, just so I don't go too off topic, maybe making the playoffs this year and trading away 1st round draft pick(s) would, in my opinion, be the wrong thing for JBots to do. Those draft picks can keep you contending for a long time.
  21. They got blown out 4-0. Last year's playoffs were much more important. The last GM traded away a lot of the cupboard stock and JBot didn't have much to start with. Staying young and having ELCs is improtant. The Jets are the 4th youngest team in the league still. To the poster that said Staal won't get a 1st...you do know he has scored 70 goals and 71 assists in the last two seasons? Playing on the Wild? He'll get a 1st +.
  22. Staal will cost more than a 2nd and a prospect...I think he will cost a 1st + which is why I thought the Sabres should wait until the off-season.
  23. Staal will be an UFA this summer and he is the one I would be going after if I am JBot but I wouldn't give him more than 2 years and he probably will get more. He's got 70 goals and 71 assists in the last two seasons playing for the Wild. I'd love to see him in a Jets uni for the next two seasons. No use giving up draft picks just because you have lots of them. Keep your picks and draft well and have patience. Trade your picks and prospects when you are contending. If I'm Buffalo, I go after Staal in free agency. He'd make an excellent 2C while youngsters develop.
  24. Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!
  25. I don't think the Preds bashed them THAT bad...they couldn't beat MAF was the story of that series. I would've ran him a few times but that's me. They needed to get him off of his game..."out of his groove" and couldn't. C'est la vie. Lesson learned. I think the idea of home advantage is WAY too over rated. In the Jets-Preds series, only two games were won at home and game 7 was won in NSH. I would much rather go into the playoffs healthy and rested than going in with the 1st overall and home advantage and worn down players and players injured. I don't think Maurice rested players enough but that's me too. I would have rested more players and ran MAF...hahahahhahahash.
