  1. I haven't had a problem hating the Russians since the '72 summit series.
  2. The league has targeted mid-January as a potential start date. However, the Ontario Hospital Association today asked the Ontario government for a strict four-week lockdown in regions with high rates of COVID-19 positivity that would include Toronto, which is in the red-control zone of the province's colour coded framework. Ottawa is currently in the orange-restrict category, which would be out of the request's scope. Also, the mayors of Toronto and Mississauga, Ont., both said on Wednesday that they want a strict four-week lockdown to begin over the winter holidays to slow the rapid spread of COVID-19 in the GTA.
  3. WJC goalie was asked which player was the hardest to face in a shootout situation. He answered Quinn and Perfetti. The other two goalies wouldn't name anyone. Pussies...
  4. The NHL and the players have a LOT to figure out here. Different laws in different states/provinces, some teams (rumor is Sharks and Habs) not able to open in their buildings. Are they going to hubs? It can be easy to make something out of this mess especially since it changes. I'm guessing they start playing around the 18th or so.
  5. I can see some Jets/Flames games getting rougher than usual...especially the 8th or 9th time they play.
  6. Just saying what the Canadian teams are looking at wrt quarantines and such.
  7. Give players 3 days to get to town and that is the 21st. A 14 day quarantine as son as they hit Canada brings us to January 4th. A 10 day training camp and they are ready to go on the 15th. If Team Canada makes the gold medal game, players could be in camp by the 6th or 7th. Would they have to quarantine in the states if they are coming from the bubble in Deadmonton?
  8. Maybe it won't start on the 13th? Maybe the 23rd or the 30th?
  9. It could be that they have been thinking of Quinn as the finisher with Cozens/Dach all along as well. Whichever player gets that spot is going to be in the spotlight for sure.
  10. I honestly think his coach would be harder on him than if he weren't his player.
  11. They're looking for someone to click with Cozens and Dach. I looked up Quinn and he was listed as a center? Apologies. He'd be a nice trigger man for Perfetti to be setting up though. Canada has a scary good line up. Button says they won't lose a game and I agree. It'll sure be nice to watch some hockey.
  12. Hellebuyck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I wouldn't read too much into the lines right now but it looks like Cozens is for sure playing center with Dach as his RWer. Says a LOT about Cozens playing center over Dach. Cozens is a future 1C and I am envious you guys have him. I think this line will dominate as soon as they find the LWer to complement them. The lines will probably be fluid, especially in the first few games. Their PP is going to be crazy. I expect Perfetti to be Quinn's LWer for the most part...maybe Mercer as the RW. A lot of good players got cut. No shame in being cut from this team. I was surprised Lapierre got cut but they have a plethora of centers and and lots will be on the wing.
  14. Most businesses here have hand sanitizers when you enter the store. I stopped for milk on the way home tonight and the doors open automatically, I used my left hand to pick it up. Scanned my points card and milk. Most places here have "tap" so you don't have to put your card into a machine. door opened automatically and I got in the car with my clean hand and sanitized my hands as soon as I got in the car and took off the mask. Wiped the milk down when I got home and sanitized the counter where I put it down. Almost all our groceries are ordered online and they come out and put the groceries in your vehicle for you but we needed milk. I hate going into stores here. You can download an app from Walmart and when you turn it on and then pull into the parking stall they are already heading out to the car with your stuff!!!!! As a province, we are doing very, very poorly.
  15. I think the same thing applies in the US as in Canada in that we would be much further ahead if we had just let the scientists handle this pandemic and not the politicians. We have/are failed the elderly to the nth degree. The ones that need(ed) it the most.
  16. Cozens had 2 assists on the wing with Dach and McMichael.
  17. If and when the National Hockey League and the Players Association finalize plans for the start of the 2020-21 season, the Winnipeg Jets will be allowed to hold training camp in their home city. Manitoba’s Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin confirmed approval for the training camp, even though the province has extended level red restrictions through Jan. 8 as a result of the continuing high numbers of positive COVID-19 cases. Roussin says the NHL has a proven track record when it comes to being able to train and practice safely. “This is a lot based on the very robust plan that the NHL and its teams have put forward and has already proven to be safe,” said Roussin in response to being asked why the Jets were going to be granted what amounts to special exemption status. I wonder how long before they start postponing games? Are they going to be playing more like a baseball team visiting a city? Things are getting interesting. I wonder if Chevy is going to move Laine now?
  18. I was wrong with the 11th, they extended them today as well. "Holiday gatherings will be outlawed in Manitoba this year as sweeping COVID-19 restrictions will be extended into the new year."
  19. I'm not sure BC, Manitoba and even Alberta will be allowing games in their provinces unless they get some kind of exemption? I think we find out if current restrictions are extended on December 11th. The way things are going here, they will be extended.
  20. It kind of helps that the 2020 cup was awarded so late. They'll probably play but I can't see them playing 50 games.
  21. I predicted a start of January 15th but I'll be surprised if they start by then. I don't think there will be more than 48 games and It wouldn't shock me if the season is cancelled.
  22. Hockey News top 50 list... 1. Mackinnon 2. McDavid 3. Crosby 4. Panarin 5. Pastrnak 6. Draisatl 7. Hedman 8. Pettersson 9. Point 10. Kucherov 11. Marchand 12. Matthews 13. Eichel 14. Kane 15. 23. A nonsensical list. As far as MacKinnon goes, he is only getting 6.3m a year for another 3 years!!!
  24. https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-current-players-ranked-top-20-wings/c-319578588 Ranking the top wingers.
  25. Hall stated when he left Deadmonton that he wanted to play for a team that made the playoffs. If the Sabres make the playoffs, the odds go way up because if they don't, there is little chance he re-signs. You also have to take into account that he will want a 7 or 8 year deal and he will be 30 when his current deal is over. I wouldn't offer him more than a 5 year deal.
