Yeah eff Tocchet and his bunch, never did like him.
He's done a hell of a job as Canucks coach though. I'd take him as coach of this soft Sabres team.

Zadorov with a nice hit on Cozens. Too bad things didn't work out with him in Buffalo. I's like him back!

And he was soft on the puck clear just now allowing Vancouver to maintain possession which lead to Samuellson having to ice it. He allowed the Canuck player to catch him from behind when he had time to move the puck out of the zone or shoot it out.

Hasn't it always been that way? Montreal gets the Montreal calls in La Belle Province!

Damn right. He'd be stapled to the bench for the third period, irregardless of the All-Star nod earlier today!

This is Dahlin all year in his own end. Low effort, too cool to care play.
I'd love to see what would ensue if he pulled that with Gallant or Torts as head coach!

Yup! Look at Philly by comparison…
Torts is a good coach. Rough around the edges but he holds players accountable. Love Torts!

The Sabres are on pace to have less wins than 2 years ago when they had a measly 32 wins, with essentially the same team.
That's gotta be the coach
Absolutely. People are down on Power and I get it, but I won't throw in the towel on the kid because he is talented. He just needs a serious coaching staff tohelp him mature and use the skills he has. Defense has been horse #### with this club for over a decade now and each new coaching staff refuses to address it properly. Again, I believe there is just way too much talent in the dressing room tp be in the spot they're in. It is being completely pissed away with this coaching staff. Any of these young guys moves on from this club and you'll see "what could have been" yet again.

Our fans never learn. They NEVER learn.
If you assembled a team out of players who got run out of this organization they'd be a strong favorite to win the cup. THE TEAM SUCKS BECAUSE THE COACHING STAFF TOTALLY ***** SUCKS.
I'm in full agreement with your post. It has been terrible coaching choices for over a decade now. Too much talent in that dressing room and it is being completely wasted. Sickening.

Seriously, what do they lose if they fire Granato and this staff tomorrow. I know it's not happening, but if it did, what is the franchise missing out on if he's gone?
Totally agree. Having Granato and staff stick around means more of the same old same old. No point to that either. I totally believe this mess is on coaching and has been for the past decade. The talent is there in my opinion but it needs a new direction (and perhaps a harder direction) This is spinning your wheels stuff now. Zero reason to keep Donnie and staff.

Willing to accept Berube? That sounds funny. Willing to accept a recent Cup winner. Is he willing to accept Adams or Pegula?
Berube is both a motivator and a good X & O guy. He is not going to jump on a Sabres offer. He will be coaching in the NHL next season, but not in Buffalo.
Oh I agree. Berube just may be able to write his own ticket. I still prefer Gallant (which is the real reason I said I'd be willing to accept Berube) Basically, I'd like a coach who is a bit harder on the boys and will hold them accountable for their play. Not to make excuses for them. In other words, a little more "old school". I'd be happy with either guy. Very happy.

Welcome to my world.
Anyone who is active on this site still cares. I’m still a fan. What I am not is, I am not someone who prioritizes watching the games. I see them when they are convenient to do so, and I stop watching at the first indication that I won’t be entertained.
I said it somewhere else, maybe last week. During Thanksgiving the talk turned to the Sabres and at one point my son observed, “you are more interested in the off ice stuff than the on ice stuff”. And he’s 100% correct. I’m still very much a fan. I still very much pay attention to what is happening. But I stopped being interested in the games themselves shortly after Pegula made the decision that entertaining me was not a priority.
And it’s not that the team is bad. It is that the team is not entertaining. Why did we all love the Nolan era? The teams mostly sucked. But they entertained as best they could and we all thought they were the most lovable . And we watched.
***** you Terry Pegula, and ***** you to the tank supporters.
and the Nolan teams were accountable to each other and busted their ass, game in and game out. I went to many of those and those games were entertaining.

I think any of us that bother to post, or read the posts of others on this site care about the Buffalo Sabres. However, as you continue to see the same results for the past 13 seasons under different coaches, GM's etc. and to see a team, that in my opinion, has some solid talent and promising youth in the organization, you start to tune out and find other things to do with your life. Until serious changes are made bringing in some veteran knowledgable hockey people (the current process of giving unproven individuals the head coaching jobs and GM positions just isn't working) expect more of the same as we squander a decent full cupboard of talent.
Again, just my opinion, but Donnie G (and I do like the guy) isn't working out and neither is Kevyn. I would be more interested in investing my time in this club if they were replaced. Playoffs weren't happening and I still stand by the Sportscentre US Thanksgiving stat. If you aren't in a playoff spot by then, the odds are heavily against you. Quinn's return won't be enough to right this ship this season. The playbook on playing the Sabres is out: Bring a heavy game and you will defeat them.

Sadly, I agree. KA and DG seem inextricably linked. Granato is not the guy to push this team where they need to go. That is very clear at this point. The frustrating part is they will tease you with games that show what they're capable of, but Meatballs cannot get them to give that effort consistently. They look like wildly different teams from one game to the next. We'll just keep bouncing up and down and get the same post game platitudes every game.
At this point, I would be willing to accept Berube as head coach as he would be tough on the players. This crap has to stop at some point and accountability throughout the organization has to occur, for any serious meaningful change. Until a decent head coach is in place, expect exactly more of the same. There is talent in this organization and it is being squandered.

Isn't a coaching change like the obvious move here for Buffalo? I wish Granato was guiding this team to the growth many were expecting, but it's not happening. Don't coaching changes in the NHL usually work a little better, a little faster, than in the NFL?
Look at the Oilers now after they made theirs.

This Sabres team has ALL the looks of a team totally lost, they have NO idea what they’re doing on the ice. These are usually the type of teams where you see a coaching change made. Nope, not here. And definitely not mid season, where it would really embarrass people.
Truth, they play like it's a pick up game or scrimmage. No system. Unbelievable.

Poor Erik Johnson, the only guy with some cajones to anti up. This Buffalo Sabres squad is sad and evenif they did scratch into the playoffs, they'd get run out of the rink. Until coaching changes are made, I expect no playoffs.
