He didn’t look overly excited. I don’t think this puck helps this team in any way for the foreseeable future.

Even my wife noticed that. She said he doesn't seem as happy as the previous picks. I said to her, "why would he be?" I think he was surprised that the Sabres chose him. I think he gave the Sabres "The Tim Murray" when they called his name. By that, I mean the same look Murray had on his face when McDavid was taken by Edmonton and Murray had to take Eichel instead.

    Thoughts:

-After all the reports of interest in Peterka, the return is disappointing. Makes me wonder if other GMs thought it would have taken them less

-Count me skeptical on Kesselring. I’m not of the belief that D are as plug and play as F, and he’s probably coming in to a less disciplined team defensively

-On the flip side, it wouldn’t surprise me if Doan plays a larger role here. People will like him

-As long as Kevyn Adams is making the decisions, I will not have confidence in the Sabres being successful

-There’s a general turning on Terry over the last 2-3 months coming from the Athletic and their writers. It’s interesting. Much of what I see now are things people have been saying even before EEE was implemented.

-We’ve got more cap space to make a big move in FA this summer. Kesselring+Doan+Marner (7x14) for Peterka is great for us.

I am super doubtful Marner even considers Buffalo. I think It is high up on his no movement clause. Money won't be enough as he has a boatload already and will get a boatload more wherever he lands. (personally, I would love to see Marner here but it isn't happening)

How about fix the defense? We need a top 4 for certain. Also a top 6 forward (a top line C). A top goalie in case Reimer is just a fluke which is very likely. He has plenty to do for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 14 seasons and counting.

Reimer isn't a fluke. He's been an NHL vet for quite some time and was a very good goalie in Toronto. He made their defence look better than it was and that was exposed when the D collapsed against the Bruins in the playoff series that Toronto lead 3 games to 1. What he needs is consistent playing time which he's now getting in Buffalo. I wouldn't throw him away. He can be very useful, especially if UPL can't find his "last season self" by next season. I know Levi is tearing it up in the AHL but let's see what he can do up with the big club. Having said all that, Buffalo really has to work on its defensive play of get more physical D-men. The point blank opportunities that continue season after season don't help out any goaltender.

Power can’t go to Rochester.  He is no longer waivers exempt.

Great shot by Quinn, who seems to be finding his game 60 games to late.

There's just something about the kid. He has hockey smarts, you can see that, but with that size, his inability to play physical or to move players in front of his goaltender, plus the mistakes he still makes, the guy just leaves me expecting more from him.

Makes you wonder if he was loafing it to get out of here.

I actually think he's just motivated by playing back in Canada in front of rabid home crowds and the fact he's playing for club who can legitimately make the playoffs (for the first time in his NHL career)

Cozens, for his career, including his 31 goal season, scores 18 goals per 82 games and shoots 9.9%

Norris, for his career, including his 35 goal season, scores 31 goals per 82 games, and shoots 17.9%

and the big one: We weren't winning with Cozens in the lineup so this trade doesn't bother me one bit. Hopefully more to come!

Adams has done ok with the moves he has made.   He's gonna get fired soon for the trades he wasn't able to get done ..    bringing in a RHD vet to pair with Powwe being at the top of the list

I hope you're right actually. No team in professional sport hangs onto a GM with a track record for missing the playoffs as many times as Kev has now. It has to be done.
