So many have mocked him there there that it probably won’t happen.
    though I hope they do.

Every single time I run the draft simulator, if I don't take Yurov at 9, he goes to Winnipeg at 14. I must've run it 25 or 30 times. Of those 25 to 30 times McGroarty was the choice at 16 every single time.

I realize it's a simulator, programmed by one guy. It is how it turned out though. So much so that I stopped trying because it got boring. I got McGroarty at 16 25 times in a row.

I hope the Sabres draft Casey’s little brother.  4th rd pick?

    From the Athletic:

LHD Luke Mittelstadt, Madison Capitals: The second passed-over player from my 2021 list that I’d consider taking in 2022, Mittelstadt is another late 2003 who played in the USHL this year and is off to college (Minnesota) in the fall. Mittelstadt is a highly-gifted offensive defenseman who led all under-19 USHL defensemen in goals (19) this year and finished second in that age bracket in points (55 in 60 games, which actually led the Capitals). He also added another five goals and nine points in 14 playoff games.

Mittelstadt, the younger brother of Sabresforward Casey Mittelstadt, was the star of Minnesota’s minor hockey and then high school circuit growing up and actually declined to go to the national program so that he could play at home. He’s got a silky first touch and regularly breaks ankles off of the point, and he made important progress developing his acceleration, his fitness and his decision-making this year. Both Mittelstadt and Wilmer were first-team all-stars in the USHL this season.

Here was one source on Mittelstadt last year: “His talent is off the charts. Just on God-given talent, he’s above (Wild second-rounder Jack) Peart. He’s that talented. He’s a true skill guy.”

Here's my question then.  If that was LAST year, and he went undrafted, what's wrong with him?  Why wasn't he chosen?

Very few people get upset at tax $'s being spent on items such as that.  What many people take exception to are expenditures like disgraced former Governor Cuomo's spending a few $MM of taxpayer funds on hundreds (1,000's?) of blue attraction signs along the Thruway which far exceeded the federal guidelines for such signs & then had to be removed (at taxpayer expense) to keep from having NY's federal transportation allotment from being significantly curtailed.

I disagree. I see people up in arms over school taxes all the time. I have a person running for governor in PA who thinks the average teacher salary in the state is too high and wants to reduce per pupil spending to Mississippi levels. He plan is to eliminate property taxes that currently go directly to local schools and replaces them with...wait for it...NOTHING. None of that is hyperbole, it's come out of his mouth. This isn't a fringe candidate, this is the person who won the GOP primary.

Yes, the long term issue can't be answered right now. But I have come around to the position that he had a right to be the one to make the decision regarding his own health. And he was right that the procedure that he preferred allowed him to back on the ice sooner than the other more extensive procedure.

He had the right to make that decision all along. What he didn't have was the right to tell his employer who held the long term liability for tens of millions of dollars what to do.

FWIW it wasn't "the team" who didn't agree. At the end of the day the only person saying yes or no to 50 million dollar decisions is Lord Terrence.

    It was 18-19 wasn't it?

When all is said and done it appears that Jack's decision to not yield on what surgery he should have is the right decision. We won't know for sure until we see how he plays after the offseason and further on, but he was right that his preferred surgery got him back on the ice sooner than if he got the surgery that the Sabres were calling for.

I have said it before but trading Jack was the right thing to do for the player and the organization.

Sooner wasn't the question. It was long term durability and that very much remains to be seen

Oh my Jackie boy is either going to become a whole new person or Vegas will have serious issues.  To quote:

"You’ve got a high-end offensive player that hasn’t won and now he’s got to put the crest first. And I’m not saying he didn’t do that in Buffalo because I don’t know what happened there, but at the end of the day that will be the conversation". –Cassidy on TSN 1200

    Good luck with that.

You do realize that only a small fraction of the guests at the Ren Fair dress up for it, right?

You realize that I don't find normal carnivals or fairs to be enjoyable. Adding a theme to it doesn't improve it.

I've also been to one against my will and now, as an adult, there is no chance I would go again.

You do you tho. Have a grand time.
