So, if he's their backup, who is their starter? I heard the Kuemper thing, but he's not on the roster yet. Sounds like a bit of a gamble to not end up in a situation like Buffalo put itself in with Ullmark walking.

Well at the moment the plan seems to have been put together by the underpants gnomes.

My point was will it take a parade for you to come around?
Move from potential to results and we will talk again. Step one is getting a goalie.

Can they make the playoffs before we start planning the parade? Ffs.

Making Kevyn Adams GM?
I'll reserve judgement on that for a while yet.

There's a rumor on another site that Terry really wants Kane and there's a 90% chance a trade gets done. Probably nonsense, but you never know. If the price is minimal, I don't see how anyone could be against it.
What thing that Terry has strongly wanted had ended up being a good thing?

I can't believe they are going to just give him away. Unreal.

It’s also not surprising that people in his position aren’t universally liked. Especially in hockey where there is still old school versus new school.
It's not even that, it's just a small community so when you fire a bunch of experienced people who in turn have relationships with other experienced people and you then ascend to the throne with a pretty thin resume it gives people an axe to grind.
Then when you have the protracted nonsense with Eichel and his representation it doesn't help and then you go out of your way to say you're looking for a stopgap goalie it's going to be hard to get one because almost nobody wants to be someone else's short term fix. Very few people are looking for a gig where they can immediately look over their shoulder for the goalie the club wants to take your job. If the people you have to talk don't trust you it makes that problem worse.

The source is the voice in his head which tells him he knows everything😛
You're right. Nobody is allowed to casually know people in hockey and have casual conversations. It's people in the business or who trade in clicks only.

Well my question is rather the supposed sources still work for the team or were let go during the whole purge in 2019.
They work in the league for other teams.

Would certainly like sources (reliable) to support your statement about Adams/Forton. I am of the opinion Adams is well liked.
And I'm not going to out my sources.

In spite of the frustration I think to this point any goalkeeper that would upgrade what we have have not been interested in coming here. That's not our GM's fault. It's probably the past mishandling of the franchise. There are still a few goalies out there that are possibilities.
That he hasn't been able to cultivate relationships with agents to convince players to sign here/agree to be traded here is a problem and it speaks to what I've said in the past about there being a segment of the hockey world that doesn't like Adams at all despite Jerry Forton's tears.

Whomever the GM adds to the position will disappoint most of the followers of this team. It seems that his mind-set regarding this position is not the same mind-set of the majority. I would love to be proved wrong but am not counting on it.
All I want is a competent goaltender who is able to play about 50 games. If they can't deliver that again I feel justified in being disappointed and annoyed.

GOALIE. The word you're looking for is "goalie." There is an NHL quality veteran on the team--Okposo, and depending on what you mean by "NHL quality," Girgensons.
The most immediate problem is that there is not a goalie.
yes, I forgot to type that word.

His last name wouldn't happen to be Botterill by any chance? 😉
It's not and it's whatever. Point is one guy really likes him, others don't. I'm going to wait until the team does something until I cry over my GM.
I'm glad at least one person working there feels like it's a better atmosphere. Now that needs to translate into results.
Result #1 that needs to happen is getting an NHL quality veteran GOALIE on the team. I know I've said it 100x and I don't care. It's the most glaring, obvious, need and it demands to be addressed immediately. I dont want to hear that nobody wanted to sign here or that the asking prices were too high. There have been at least 3 goalies who were traded since the end of last season for almost nothing who would have been better than what we have who dont have crazy term or huge money. Nedjelkovic, Husso, and Georgiev. Steve Yzerman managed to get two of them. I don't think anyone is going to question Yzerman's competence.
If Adams goes into another season without an actual plan in net other than to wait for the magic beans to grow he needs to be fired because that's unacceptable. The only name I've heard so far is Jake Allen. Jake Allen who hurt his groin 3 times last season and only managed to play in 33 games before going out for the year. Jake Allen who hasn't played 40 games in 3 years. I'm very concerned.

Makes me wonder how bad it was under Botts and TM
I know at least one person who thinks Adams is a snake so there's that.

Yes, I understand that. He's on the magic bean list until he signs his ELC. Until that happens he's pipeline adjacent at best. His status is the same as Portillo's and Johnson's who also counts against the magic bean list but are probably going to walk away. If Levi throws down another year like he just had he can choose his destination with absolutely no problems whatsoever. If you are seeing what's happening with Johnson and Portillo and then writing Levi's name down in ink you have a lot more faith than you should.

Cap recapture is such a weird thing. Player signs with Team X, gets traded to Team Y years later, retires from Team Y years after that, and Team X eats a stiff cap penalty.
I suppose the lesson is don't frontload contracts.
Team X is the one that got the benefit so it makes sense in that way

Wonder if he was playing injured to start the season then.
I like it, could have some untapped upside.
He was also barely 17 years old to start the season

I don't think Jacques was from Jacksonville. I'm not sure if that's a plus or a minus.
