I think Granato is trying to get as much out of Comrie and UPL as he can before turning the net over to Anderson. As long as the team keeps winning, Granato is going to spot-start Anderson until ten games or so are left in the season. Anderson will then take over and be the starter in the playoffs. Probably not. But the argument could be made that he's worth a 2nd to the Sabres considering where they are in the playoff race and their overall team development.

Sabres don't have a 3rd this year. Their 4th might not be enough yet for the Canucks, and Adams might be hesitant to give up a 2nd. Schenn would check a lot of boxes for this team this season and even next if they want to extend him.
