Considering they were able to move off of Granlund who clearly didn't fit as well as Petry and DeSmith at the cost of a first round pick. They did fine. They also gained three million in cap space. I could see them using some of it on a UFA on a one yr deal. While I think this likely will not end with them hoisting the cup, they didn't give up any of their limited upside prospects in the system. Clearly SJ is looking to flip the three veterans with some bounce back in a market/team not expecting to complete and get younger assets on the back end. Hope it works out for them.

Glad the Sabres won't be on the hook for this type of player in years 4-7. Because he's going to fall off a cliff.

Sorry for his families loss, but this is just an example of a classless unprofessional business owner. That's all.

Two words: Trade bait.

Death note on his career. He was barely hanging on by a thread as is. Enjoy the KHL, loser.

Novikov is already better than Bryson
In my book.
Exactly trade Bryson for a mid round pick. Move on from him. He'd be interesting as a depth piece on a rebuilder.

Trading anything of remote value for Gibson, is a huge no.

This is awesome.
I haven't seen anything in Greenway's game to show that he's worthy of being above the fourth line. Now, his injury woes might be a preamble for that. I'll just watch into the start of next season. He's the biggest wild card for sure. I still would like to get rid of Comrie and get some sort of alternative in net.

From top to bottom, this seems like the deepest group of prospects I’ve seen at a development camp in a while.
And what's crazy is there are still 6-7 other under 23's that didn't participate. lol

Move on from Erik Johnson and Riley Stillman. Thanks.

He is not known as a "clown" around the league, actually quite the opposite. It is a one year deal, a bit expensive but we have the cap space this year and he will be valuable if we have injuries, which we had lots of last year.
I can see our 5/6 pair rotating a new player in almost every game. It is called depth.
Depth isn't 3.25M per season. Sorry. Depth is someone you bring to camp on a tryout deal. We have depth already. Clifton is the upgrade to the top six.

He fits the 6/7 role and can plug holes up the roster if needed. A savvy vet insurance guy - I hope he provides the James Partrick kind of help they need back there.
With Anderson gone it appears Adams found another vet presence for the group.
One year and we see about next year.
A sixth or a seventh defensemen for a guy who is washed, and you're giving this clown 3.25M. Eh, I'd rather allocate this money elsewhere. Johnson is an injury prone bag of meh. He belongs on waivers.
-
Clifton just softened the blow of Johnson. Alright, I'll shut up now, I missed this (lost internet).
-
This guy is toast. I hate this signing so much. He literally does nothing, and is not an upgrade over what we have. Sorry. This is a ***** L. Where the ***** is the management team trying to progress with signings like this.

What is this *****. I thought we were progressing. Tokarski and Cooley, Johnson. ***** dreadful signings.

What the literal *****.

I hate this. They should be at the point that their twelfth m/thirteenth forward needs to be better.
For once I actually agree with you, I would have let Rousek run with it.

The price surprises me.
Thats a lot for a waiver pickup, no matter that he’s an actual NHLer.
Guess the term makes it easier to swallow.
It's 500K less than he made last year. At least it's only a one year deal.
-
Reaves at anything more than 925K at this point is dumb. He's a face puncher with no other value.

I don't understand the Wahlberg pick, but he has size, and skill. So it may make sense. The rest of the picks I really liked. Loved Ratzlaf in the 5th. I loved Benson at 13th overall. As a BPA that's the type you want to fall. Amazing away from the puck and a ring rat. All things I love. When Reinbacher, Simashev and Willander all off the board, it was BPA.

Great draft pick. I loved Hrabal, but this guy this late is a nice sneaky gem. Just keep adding to the pipeline.
-
Not a bad pick from what I've just finished reading. Also a local kid, is a nice add.
-
Nice pick here. I like his package of skills.

Sabres Trade Ilya Lyubushkin to Anaheim for a 2025 4th Round Pick

Bryson had no place on this roster, so we trade Ilya. I loved Lyubushkin. I will definitely always remember his OT winner. Ty for your time here!
