In OT, either a 20 second shot on goal clock, or you lose possession if you bring the puck back out of the offensive zone.

Regarding uniforms I would say home team wears dark until January, then switch to white at home for rest of season. That allows the home teams to promote their dark alternate jerseys before Christmas, but let’s fans see some more variety after.

Puck over the glass is like icing and not a penalty.
That would reward the offending team as they’re having trouble clearing the zone, they get a stoppage in play to catch their breath, reset positioning, and a faceoff to win possession again. They could even call a timeout.

A goal should count no matter how it goes into the net, including kicked in and high stick. Both take skill and are too subjective to call properly.
Also 3-2-1 point system; 3 for regulation win, 2 for OT/shootout win, 1 for OT/shootout loss.

Curious on the non union thing, Im in the healthcare industry and turn 60 in another year... hit 10 years in the union and trying to decide the +- about higher pay v benefits. I could go on my wife's insurance but it isnt as good... ps I also will receive a fed pension.
I can say from experience that once you get in your 60s and your health issues increase, having good medical and dental insurance is more important than higher pay if you’re already at a decent pay rate. You can be relatively healthy and still have issues requiring treatment and prescriptions. I’m retired and without dental insurance I just paid $1500 for a crown.

Aside from the step up in level, and pay probably, where would you rather be playing minor hockey? Rochester or Jacksonville?
If I’m trying to make my career a priority, I’d choose Rochester. There’d be too many distractions in Jacksonville starting with the weather, that could make you lose focus.

That number for real? Go to Portland ME or Worcester MA and count the actual fans. 1,000 if they're lucky.
Maine averaged 3700+ and Worcester 3900+. Jacksonville was highest with 7700+. Cincinnati was 6000.

There are 32 NHL teams, 32 AHL Teams, but only 28 ECHL teams. Suggests there might be room for 4 more new teams. Maybe one closer to WNY?
Complete hypothetical: If the Sabres operated their own ECHL team out of Harborcenter, would anyone go?
Not enough seating at 1,800. Average ECHL attendance is over 4,600.

With the Rangers moving from Jacksonville to Cincinnati, it looks like the Sabres will just be swapping teams.

Will the Thursday scrimmage be streamed anywhere?

Please no Hellebuyck, I seen him enough when playing Vegas and he gets lit up. I would call him Connor Hellasuck! No, to Tatar and Tarasenko.
So Levi can play the 3 games vs Vegas. Hellebuyck didn’t become a Vezina finalist by sucking.

@SwampD, you will be happy to know that as of today, the Sabres are about $16 million over the cap floor and are no longer paying anyone to not play for them, not even Cody Hodgson.
Terry Pegula will be spending about $85 million in actual dollars on players salaries in the coming year.
The scouting staff is still below it’s pre-purge level (it went from 21 to 7 and is now at 13) but the coaching, player development and analytics staff are all well above where they were in the Botterill era.
Anyone who thought the Sabres COVID era cutbacks were permanent was wrong.
Christian Ehrhoff is still getting paid over $800k a year until 2027.

Malcolm Subban signed a two-way with St Louis. Former Sabre Jonas Johansson signed with Tampa, so he might end up in Syracuse.

What other UFA goalies are still out there as possibilities?
Jarry and Varlamov are the only legit potential starters left. There are some decent young RFAs but Adams wouldn’t go after them.

Haha, yeah, I meant pieces from the Sabres side.
On that I agree, but in my scenario he would be in place of some others I listed, not in addition.

I think Mitts is more valuable than any of the other pieces that you listed.
Not Hellebuyck.

Mitts is already a great middle six utility player who is coming off a good year. We’ve spent a long time developing him and I think we’re finally seeing some dividends. With Quinn out until Atleast the new year he is not at all a throw in to be ‘added to the mix.’ He has good value and excellent chemistry with some of our big boys (especially Dahlin) and I hope he stays and extended for a reasonable price.
If they said they needed Mitts as part of a deal, I say Sold. He’s never had a good healthy full season, can’t hold onto center, can’t drive a line, and will be up for a contract. His loss would more than be made up for by a top goalie and Iafallo.

Hellebuyck is a pipe dream.
1) He's a UFA after this year
2) He's going to command way to much AAV and Term when all we need is a guy to take some work from Levi as he developes.
3) it flies totally in the face of everything KA has been doing.
It would obviously be a sign and trade. He’s consistently one of the best goalies every year. Levi has a short track record. Why risk everything on a rookie when they could have a sure thing. They desperately need to make the playoffs.

My dream trade would be:
Hellebuyck, Iafallo
for
Jokiharju, Olofsson, UPL, Ostrand or Rosen
If need be add Middelstadt to the mix.

Sabres add Zach Redmond to Development Staff
in The Aud Club
Posted
Redmond won the AHL Eddie Shore outstanding defenseman award in 2018-19, so he must have had some skill.
