Like I said, a 21 year old needs to earn his respect, it’s not given because of size. Size is implied by the comment I addressed below and the sentence that follows the bold. There’s nothing in my comment (or your comment) about skill or ability. It’s a direct response to your sentence “At his size he should scare the offense from coming near him but he's just the opposite: they don't mind engaging with him because they know they'll win the engagement. A guy that size shouldn't be wagging his stick at you from 7ft away. He plays with zero aggression which stands out like a lighthouse on a crag during a stormy night.” If your comment was about skill and ability, I guess my reading comprehension simply isn’t there. If you’re implying anyone in the NHL is afraid of Cozens or Krebs then I very much disagree with that.

No self respecting grown man playing in the NHL in his late twenties is going to be intimidated by a 21 year old, yet alone Owen Power. Neither Power nor this team will get any respect on the ice until they claim it in that regard. It wouldn’t matter if they were all 7’ tall and 260 lbs.

None of those players, to my knowledge, has an NHL pedigree. Pretty sure Samuelson and Ryan Johnson are the only ones in the organization at this point.

Anyone who is ruling out our players incompetence is doing it wrong. But the best thing is if it’s on the players we can toss it back on KA too.

Columbus had all four players between the top of the circle and the blue line when we tried to enter the zone there. That’s even a generous assessment. Just chip the ***** puck in! It is absolutely ***** absurd how high opponents PK play up on our zone entries. So many of our issues are coaching based.

What PA said, but also… This is interesting because it really shows how different the set up is between the Bills and the Sabres. The Bills have a front office and coaching staff that other teams want to poach from whereas the Sabres lack the appropriate…depth (?) behind the bench to even have a qualified stand-in on a night where the fill-in is already supposed to be coaching a hockey game elsewhere.

Luke Hughes had more potential going into the draft but he was smaller and at the time slightly less developed. Few teams are going to draft a guy out of the consensus top three when they have the #1. Power should probably be fine. Or he’ll be Erik Johnson who was panned for years, moved to Colorado, and then was forgotten as a #1.
