  1. True -- and he got worse as the season progressed. But during those two months he also had three 30+ save performances on the road against Boston, Colorado, and LV. All wins. All with +.925 sv%. Maybe just give him every road game for a bit and a handful of home games to boot.
  2. Perhaps he's learned some consistency. However, even if it is a streak tease, that's something this team absolutely needs. If UPL can get hot like he did last season (12-4-1 in Dec/Jan) then he'll have saved another season that was on the ropes.
  3. I don't think either UPL or Levi has anything to fear from Comrie after the trade deadline this season.
  4. No Death Star Alamo Mode tonight. They closed the blast door nicely.
  5. Which is exactly why you don't even give the refs the excuse. So someone got checked hard in the corner. Big deal. UPL is lights out, you're on the road, and the refs are looking for the makeup call. Don't give them it and go close it out.
  6. Bad retaliation. Didn't need the crosscheck. And if you're a rookie, you don't get any grace. (and the refs were looking for the excuse for a makeup on a bad one.)
  7. Huh. Better get ready for the refs to call something on us. That's just a standard body check on the passer.
  8. Based on the play of the others, I'd say his case is resting and just awaiting the verdict.
  9. Nice final-minute goal. You just give that one up, Rangers.
  10. Fear (of losing) leads to anger. Anger (at the players/coach) leads to hate. Hate (at the franchise) leads to suffering of the self as a fan. By sheer numbers, someone under 21 years old is likely to score a goal.
  11. I missed last night's game, but I guess I didn't miss much. Adding yet two more rookies into an already (comparably) unstructured defensive team and taking out two of your best defensive forwards... against the Devils? The outcome isn't too surprising. What is surprising is that when GM Sheevyn lost Girgs and Greenway, the callups weren't veteran or more sound defensive players. The obvious replacement to Girgs from Rochester is Rousek. There is no obvious replacement for Greenway in terms of acumen/size. Cederqvist doesn't have the speed. So maybe Rousek and one of the kids. Or Biro who at least has skated with the team recently. But to try and ice Benson, Kulich, Rosen, and adding in VO and Jost who aren't exactly dominating this season, that's on the GM.
  12. Kulich and Rosén in the same debut game? Yeesh. Two many rookies at once. But I hope they ignite the power play.
  13. The long time ago in a state far, far away Wisconsinite in me recommends a perfect brandy Manhattan with a blue cheese olive. More people need to be turned onto that drink. (But a Wisconsin old fashioned? No thanks. Way too sweet.)
  14. Drat that cable cutting and TNT. This will become radio-only for me once home. But for the moment finishing a Skookum Brewing Memory of Light imperial stout. Is good. I like imperial things.
  15. Well, shoot. Happy (US) Thanksgiving to you all.
  16. Confidence boost? Reward for a goal? When was the last Sabres shot on goal? They went full Alamo Death Star, even unto the OT.
  17. Now we know which defenseman to sit next game, right HCDG?
  18. Joker has to be willing to absorb a hit there and avoid the icing.
