  1. Let the mock expansion drafts begin: https://t.co/Hniwg0kNhu?amp=1
  2. Friedman says Toronto and Tampa have gone with the 4-4-1 scenario. Toronto leaving Alex Kerfoot and newly-acquired Jared McCann unprotected. Says Nashville MAY have protected 5D.
  3. UFAs CAN be selected even without a contract. Several will be. For two reasons: 1. It gives Seattle an exclusive negotiating window 2. They will intentionally take a few expiring contracts to maintain cap flexibility going into their first offseason.
  4. I’m going to need this in a few more threads before I can truly analyze the numbers 😋
  5. You can solve number 6 by taking Power in number two (if they have two picks it makes a world of sense to just stay at 1 and take Power). This fan base is severely underestimating the lack of high-end defensemen this team has or projects to have. You also don’t just sign them off the streets (Dougie Hamilton isn’t coming here).
  6. Opportunity certainly does not mean necessity, especially in this case.
  7. I honestly just googled Carey Price and the homepage said Vancouver haha but good to know. I like that too.
  8. Your second point is the point I’d make and also Montreal is “hockey heaven” in a similar way New York is the “Mecca of basketball.” The Maple Leafs are more comparable to the Knicks but Montreal hasn’t been successful in a very long time and their finals appearance will prove to be an unrepeatable performance.
  9. Price’s wife is from Washington and they’re building a house up in BC so maybe he’d welcome the move. He’s from Vancouver.
  10. Please, Seattle. Don’t let these teams off the hook. They might be able to build a contender immediately.
  11. That’s so easy to photoshop
  12. They definitely could stop them from dealing with other teams. They can do whatever they want.
  13. They didn’t get the money from the expansion fee which is why they aren’t involved. However, the league reportedly put it out there that they didn’t want Vegas being used in deals to “hide” players who would otherwise be exposed. To that I say: then why not make it a rule Vegas couldn’t acquire any exposable players after their season ended until the end of the trade freeze?
  14. I was clearly too high the entire time the expansion process played out because I thought they had reversed the decision.
  15. The lists will be given across the league at 10 am tomorrow but I’m skeptical they actually get released to the public. They said last time they would and then changed at the last second. I see no reason they’d release them this time after not doing so last time.
  16. If they WANT it they can have a better team on paper than Vegas but obviously accomplishing what Vegas did will be very hard to match. If St. Louis doesn’t have a deal in place I’d be livid if Seattle just let him sit there and allowed the Blues to get away with it.
  17. If all these reports are true then Seattle could set themselves up quite nicely. Top six: Donskoi - Duchene - Tarasenko Gourde - Domi - Voracek Then they should be getting solid defense and goaltending. I know some stupid stuff will happen and they’ll pass on guys like Voracek and other names above to avoid taking on salary but they could actually build another very good expansion team right off the bat.
