  1. I would prefer Larsson to both if I were Edmonton. Shattenkirk only because I don't think Shattenkirk signs an extension with anybody outside of Northeast America.
  2. Huh? Larsson had been seen as a possible bust until this season where many people think he took a huge step forward. Schneider has been their starter for three seasons.
  3. FWIW, I've seen a lot of Oilers fans coming around to this trade pretty quickly. I think there's still a sigh of relief that they finally got a defenseman. I do think Adam Larsson will be a top-pairing dman within two years if not by the end of next season. I still wouldn't have given Hall for him. If I'm giving somebody Hall they better be giving me a dman I KNOW is CURRENTLY a top-pairing dman and will be a top-pairing dman for at least five seasons.
  4. My guess is Okposo comes in around $7M. I'm not interested at that price.
  5. (Buffalo's interest in Kulikov was reported prior to the trade. It was not a "blindsid" move)
  6. If you follow legitimate accounts (McKenzie, Kypreos, Dreger, etc) then you can look at the left-hand side of their account on desktop and see a "followers you know" section that will show you everybody that you follow that also follows that account. Follower counts are one of many things to consider but you can only consider it if you understand the ability to buy followers and how stupid most of Twitter is.
  7. Is the pope Muslim? HockeyyInsiderr is the most notorious of fake Twitter hockey accounts. Your best bet is to block the out of it.
  8. In our new world I don't think we have to stick this conversation in the Stamkos thread since there is plenty to discuss there on its own. What do you think about the possibility of offer-sheeting Nikita Kucherov who is going to be an RFA come Friday? He's a left-handed winger that is slotted on the right side in Tampa. He just put up 30-36-66 in 77 games for Tampa Bay and, by some accounts, has taken over as Tampa Bay's best overall forward. Here is General Fanger's offer-sheet compensation chart and who can give what (we can give any level of offer). http://www.generalfanager.com/draftpicks/offersheets Personally, I love the idea. I don't give a flying about the stupid unwritten rules of offer sheets. Sign your players or somebody else will. I would be willing to go up to the $7.5 million area on this one.
  9. Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey Dreger: "I'm not sure that they're done moving out bodies here from a forward perspective." #Oilers
  10. HOLY SLOW DOWN NHL WOW THE NEWS KEEPS COMING St. Louis Blues @StLouisBlues The Blues have agreed to terms on a one-year two-way deal with Jordan Caron. bit.ly/28YWYom #stlblues pic.twitter.com/MX58zpQZ1n
  11. :w00t: :w00t: John Vogl @BuffNewsVogl Casey Nelson gets $650,000 in each of his two years, source says. He had four assists in seven games after signing last season.
  12. SABRES EXTEND CASEY NELSON Posted on June 29, 2016 by chrisdierken | Leave a comment BUFFALO, N.Y. (June 29, 2016) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has signed defenseman Casey Nelson to a two-year contract extension. Nelson (6’2”, 183 lbs., 7/18/1992) made his professional debut with the Sabres during the 2015-16 season and recorded four assists and a plus-1 rating in seven games. Before signing with Buffalo, Nelson earned WCHA Defensive Player of the Year honors after recording 22 points (6+16) in 40 games for Minnesota State University. The Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin native amassed 60 total points (14+46) and a plus-28 rating in 99 games during his collegiate career, leading the team in plus/minus rating and leading Minnesota State defensemen in scoring in both his sophomore and junior seasons. https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com/2016/06/29/sabres-extend-casey-nelson/
  13. I'm still okay with this. I would've loved to have him but this is a fine outcome. All other main options were within our division anyways. The only real negative is that it's on a huge discount. Let's call on/offer sheet Kucherov. Stamkos tweeted to make it official , btw.
  14. Hometown discout Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie Stamkos's deal with TB is expected to come in at eight years, with an AAV of $8.5M.
  15. Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie Steven Stamkos is staying in TB. #TSN

  17. This is absolute madness.
  18. Nick Kypreos @RealKyper #Blockbuster @CanadiensMTL trade PK Subban to @PredsNHL for Shea Weber #wow @Sportsnet @NHL.
  19. Nick Kypreos @RealKyper Talk of @Canadiens moving PK as early as today. Stay tuned. @Sportsnet.
  20. Just in case you were thinking "there's no way Edmonton is this stupid and there's bound to be something else to the deal": Nope. It's official. Edmonton Oilers @EdmontonOilers The #Oilers have acquired defenceman Adam Larsson from the @NJDevils in exchange for forward Taylor Hall. pic.twitter.com/cmJqz7Do73
  21. Ryan Rishaug @TSNRyanRishaug The Oilers have traded Taylor Hall Bob McKenzie says to New Jersey. Adam Larsson likely going the other way. Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC Larsson is going to EDM
  22. (Not thread policing - those have been and are being discussed in the free agency thread. They're both free agency deals. Just mentioning in case you want to join a more active discussion on them)
  23. The Hockey Press isn't a legitimate source but it's been long rumored that Buffalo could easily be the highest bidder. If McKenzie came out and said it tomorrow it wouldn't change anything for me.
  24. I, as a common defender of the Pegulas and their decisions, think this falls right in the "sports owners are too powerful" category. Another strong arm move to bully taxpayers into paying for their facilities.
  25. Yes, that's my bad. The 15% is Tampa Bay.
