  1. Cam Newton might be a closer comparison than Big Ben but your point still stands. And I do think if this team added two good receivers to put in front of Jones/Foster they’d have a good group to work with. Even if it’s one guy like Antonio Brown and one very good TE.
  2. If that, yes. But the value of a first is for us is better spent on term.
  3. I’m not convinced this gets us there nor am I making that Staal deal
  4. That’s essentially the same roster, so we’re banking on a lot of guys making huge jumps in the next few years and nobody flaming out. That doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzies.
  5. We can offer the 2019 third but have to just condition that it becomes 2020 if the Sheary conditions are met which seems very unlikely right now. Where has Botterill himself said this? And did he sign a contract that prevents him from lying or changing his mind?
  6. Correct False, the Sabres can absolutely trade those picks. The acquiring team would just take over with the conditions in mind (the Sabres could even ADD conditions to those conditional picks if they want).
  7. And instead Edgar gets in... dude is not a Hall of Famer. The MLB Hall of Fame is just the Hall of Really Good.
  8. None of those angles definitively show me that it did not land on his middle or ring fingers nor does it show me that it did not graze his arm. Focusing on the thumbs was the mistake. You have to be definitive. At least that's the standard.
  9. What snipers is he playing with in Minnesota? He’s making players around him better. That’s the kind of player we need.
  10. I disagree that the video was definitive on Edelman. It did not touch his thumbs. I couldn’t tell from any angle if it touched his fingertip when it landed or if it grazed his arm on passing. My gut tells me he didn’t touch it and I don’t think it was wildly wrong for them to overturn it but I don’t believe it was definitive. The roughing the passer call, though? That was egregious. And the offsides call was as ticky tack as it gets. Guys lineup with a head over the ball pretty regularly. Andy Reid questioned why it was flagged there, too. Also, the first big Hogan catch on third down also was not a catch. Not even by the new rules. He traps the ball but then it hits the ground and moves and he needs to change arms to secure it. At no point did he secure it before it touched the ground. I do believe, if the games were reffed fairly in those big moments, it should be Saints vs Chiefs.
  11. I mean if a team has five scouts at a game it's notable. Usually. In this case it's likely just a group of scouts taking a seat where they can because they're in town anyways. Unless the Sabres scheduled their scouting meetings months ago as an intricate cover up of trade talk they're having with one of these teams. HMMMM!!! Minnesota is, once again, ripe for the picking, though. I have interest in Coyle or Granlund if either are available at all. Maybe Brodin or Spurgeon, again, if they're available. I'd give a very good amount for Granlund who was once the number one prospect while Cody Hodgson was number two. What a time. Give me Grandlund and Spurgeon for Risto, Girgensons and the SJ first (conditional on us making the playoff, if not it becomes out 2020 second).
  12. This team is confirmed to be the Sabres. Unfortunately, another reporter says the Sabres are having their scouting meetings in Vegas this week.
  13. The NFL makes me want to just throw my elbows at everything around me
  14. You couldn’t get Draisaitl for Risto and two of our firsts. Would you do Risto and our lowest first for Klefbom and RNH? I would.
  15. Also: the image of you or I sitting outside a high school at 3 pm only enhances my mental image of harassment being a white thing. ?
  16. I am absolutely in love with Marshawn Lynch’s personality. That dude has a great head on his shoulders.
  17. I’m not sure which way you’re indicating this would sway my mind. I should add an additional line to my post you responded to saying that this is based on the evidence we have and that there’s a decent chance that even when power changes hands harassment remains a white problem.
  18. Harassment is based on power and in the US white men disproportionately possess and acquire power. Because of this and until it changes harassment is a largely white problem.
  19. Depends on what you get. I think this franchise needs to be open to everything short of dealing Eichel or Dahlin. Guys like Risto, McCabe and Reinhart are the pieces you can use in hockey deals. Those firsts can also be used to replace them or add without sacrificing from the roster. Honestly, if we could use Risto to land RNH and get Edmonton to take Okposo’s contract in the process I’d be happy with that. I think GMJB should be looking to shuffle the roster before he does the coaching staff.
  20. Absolute zero interest in Doug Hamilton. Guy clearly is a problem, not a solution. Trouba intrigues me for sure. Not sure about what it would take to snag him. Likely something cost-effective for Winnipeg. I don’t know if I’m on board with Risto for RNH but I’m interested. If it were announced tonight I wouldn’t be angry but I’m not sure if I’d be excited either. Talk is that Carolina still wants to add a forward after acquiring Nino and plan to use a dman to do it. To get the value we want, though, I think we’d be better off getting a third team involved to make it happen.
  21. AHL deal for sure. Neither guy has an NHL future.
  22. The replacement factor is big here, I agree. The same twitterererer suggested immediately following this trace with a pursuit of Brandon Montour (which would definitely be worth including a first). That or you can expand the trade in some way to get Klefbom but idk if that makes sense for Edmonton.
