Except these guys BELIEVED in & LOVED Granato.  They weren't anywhere CLOSE to playing big when they were coached by him.  And every single time down the stretch when they had a must win game they lost.

Desire is necessary but not sufficient to be effective.  You also must have an understanding of what you need to do and and understanding of HOW to do what you need to do.

Personally, expect that a significant portion of them have the desire.  Personally believe Ruff gives them an understanding of what they need to do.  And those 2 combined is why, unlike Granato's squads that rarely came out of the gate quickly, Ruff's team last year tended to take the lead in a lot of games.

But 100% have no faith that the coaching staff that is supposed to be teaching them the X's & O's give the players the understanding of HOW to do what they need to do WHEN the other team is bearing down fully.

Given the choice of changing out 6 or even 9 players for guys that we'd consider upgrades (presuming no changes in net) vs swapping out all the ACs and leaving the roster intact, expect that bringing in a legit coaching staff would do more for thie outcome than swapping out the roster.  And we know they aren't going to be swapping out that much of the roster.

There is a difference between loving someone and believing that he is going to get you to where you want to go.

    What I'm saying is this:

If you miss on Mrtka 6'5.75" 218lbs you have the following

Psenicka: 6'5" 185lb (late switch to CHL, upside)

Amico: 6'5.5" 232lbs (knee surgery in November, upside)

Kettles: 6'5.5" 195lbs (Sept bday, upside)

Those 6'5" dudes under 200 lbs would need to have the frame capable of putting on some serious bulk...otherwise you are going to get a big guy that gets pushed all over the ice because they have a serious lack of muscle, especially lower body.

Are all home games usually sold out? What are the ticket prices for Bandit games?

Bandits averaged 18,470 this year(up from 16,974 last year) for their 9 home games, by far the highest in the NLL and almost 6,400 per game higher than the 2nd place Calgary Roughnecks with 12,076. These were the only two teams averaging more than 10K per game, league average was 7,833.

They outdraw the Sabres significantly, and it's not hard to understand why.

  4. It's really. really hard to be this bad as a team when you have 2 elite players in Dahlin and Thompson and a very, very good all-around player who puts up 35 goals like Tuch.  Really, almost impossible, I would say it's a statistical improbability that the Sabres continue to figure out ways to do it.

I think 1999 was the last time the Sabres and the Bills both played in the post-season.  Yikes!

Yeah that's pretty crazy to think of.

imagine two teams in the same city where 1 team has the 2nd longest playoff missing streak in league history(the Bills at 17 years) and the other has shattered the previous record by 4 years and counting at 14 years(Sabres - previous record was 10) with both periods overlapping.

He started 8 games this year... if you look at goalies with 10 or fewer games they mostly are either fluctuating in one direction or another.

when you post an .872 save percentage and a 4.12 GAA I would hope that's all he got. You need to earn your playing time when you are coming up from the AHL and you didn't perform well the season before.  He performed worse. Much worse.

I've had a boycott in place where I won't buy any tickets until the team is in the playoffs. I did go to the Colorado game at the start of the losing streak, but I think they were in a playoff spot (or close) when my friend bought the tix.

My 15yo daughter's been asking about going to a game before the end of the season. I think I'll break down and go Tuesday's game... They're practically giving the tickets away anyways.

Am I doing the right thing?  😁

You only get to make lasting memories with your kids for a short time. Don't ever choose not to do something you feel you might regret later in life when you had a chance to give her that.

I know it seems like they’ve won more but the Bruins have only won one Cup since Jacobs bought them in 1975.

Sorry, just realize that blue beat me to it.

OK, how bout I say they have been to multiple Cup Finals then? 😂

Yikes...have been to 7 Cup Finals since then but only 1 win...probably the worst performing Boston team out of the 4 sports teams...which is crazy to think about.
