  1. True. But the current champions had Kessel on their 3rd line. Depth is important and I think on a cup team, Larsson, Foligno and Deslariers are on your 4th line. If not utility forwards. Its a shame all our older vets are basically useless, otherwise, we could be having some nice depth appear
  2. I would sign Pirri. 25 years old and was on track for a 40 point season last year Although it worries me that with little over 150 NHL games he will be on his 4th NHL team Chi - Fla - Ana - Buf?
  3. So far I am pretty disappointed with this draft. I was hoping Murray would make some moves to improve us. I can't help but think of Nylander as an Afinogenov type player. Let's hope we can sign Vesey or this team has not improved one bit from last year. And that makes me worried for FA, as I can see us throwing $12 million at a guy who should be making $7-8 million.
  4. Murray knows Luke Richarson from his Ottawa days. Richardson is Chrychun's uncle. i wonder if he knows more about the kids development and if that will impact his desires today. He also likes athletes and Chrychun did well in the physical tests
  5. Man we could have done that trade too :(
  6. Chychrun has scored very well in the physical combine too
  7. Foligno is trash 9/10 games and then in the tenth game decides to use his body to bully the puck to the net rather than dangle and give the puck away. If it were me, I would let him walk and rot in the AHL
  8. I don't think we get a D man. Edmonton takes Chrychryhcnrhn Calgary takes Jullovi Arizona takes Sergei
  9. Naploeon being a dwarf aside. When has free agency been rampant? Its been getting worse for years as key players are locked up. Can anyone name the team that lost their biggest 1 or 2 players to free agency in the last decade? I can name one. And it was a day I'll never forget.
  10. Wow that was an epic up. Shame it wasn't cashed in
  11. Kane has 6 points in 5 games... How many does he need before he is contributing?
  12. Vesey signs with us. Calligula signs with Philly Risto resigned at 6.25 for 6 years Trade for Hoffman Pysyk is gone. Ennis too. Chad signs for 2 years Legwand for 1 We sign Hamhuis for 4 years Trade for a youngish but decent Dman - maybe Tanev Sign Darren Helm COR starts in Buffalo. Bailey too. Rodriques is 13th man. Edmonton wins the lottery - because that is tradition Buffalo is selected third. Drops down in position (maybe with Vancouver/Tanev) and drafts Chrychrychrychryn
  13. Sadly Phoenix will take a defender as they are short on them. Which means we will not get to pick, we will just draft whichever is left. Like whoever ends up arriving late to Professor Oak and ending up with Bulbasaur
  14. Kane passing to Reinhart for the hatrick
  15. Where did you get the contract info from? (I want to be nosy and read more about the terms)
  16. I'm assuming sarcasm? I agree with Sizzle, this isn't getting air time because there is nothing that interesting or damaging about it.
  17. Worth listening to the whole thing. Talks about Kane and how he had a slow start, but was overall happy with him and thought he was one of the hardest working guys on the team for 2/3 of the year. Mentions his tardiness and how they had a long chat about it. Mentioned he needs to be a better team mate and often turns up 5 minutes before practice and laces up and goes out - no warm up or stretches - and he needs to appreciate others can't do that. Apparently some guys on the team were apprehensive about him before the season due to reputation. Interestingly it sounds like no one has issues with his on ice behaviour but he can be cold and closed off when not on the ice and he needs to work on that. Sounds like he doesn't really trust people or let the in. Wants Lehner to be fitter but understands he couldn't work out much due to injury. Handled being a starting goalie well. Needs to work harder in every practice - but said thats a problem with all young goalies and usually takes a few years. Goalies don't need to be the best player, but the hardest working player. You don't need days off just because you're playing lots
  18. Agreed. Consensus seems to be he will be the second Dman picked and will go around the 7-9 range
  19. Maybe in the minority, but I'm really hoping we jump the Yotes and Habs. This team needs to win, and they need to learn how to win. The difference in terms of winning the draft is like 1.5%, and I would trade that every day if it meant a team that was competitive and wanted to claw their way up the standings regardless of the point in it. I don't want to become the Oilers who after 5 top 3 picks in 6 years are still last in the league. However, if a player gets injured then let them get the medical treatment ASAP so they have longer in the offseason to recover and train
  20. Agreed. Fundamentally he is allowed to make this decision, just as a GM can trade a player with little to no warning. However, what makes him a douche is the fact he told Poille three times that his intention was to sign and join them. I assume he will go to Boston or Toronto. Plus him pulling this kind of stuff damages the stock of NCAA players. Russians drop in the draft because of the fear that the KHL has a pull on them, even though only two players have departed (Radulov and Kovalchuk). Shultz, Vesey, Wheeler are high profile players who have pulled this stuff. At the very least tell the GM so he can trade you and get something more than empty air. They can't force you to sign and it would be a nice way of repaying the investment and faith they made in you
  21. Boston might be their hope for the streak to stay alive
  22. Ugly game so far... just very choppy with lots of poor plays by both teams
  23. Skinner did throw the first punch... Skinner seemed to be causing trouble out there (not necessairly in a bad way). I guess the refs wanted everything to cool down
  24. Kane might not score as often as he should, but damn he is fun to watch. I'm glad we have him Also Neil is a and someone should have knocked him out
  25. Surely it is hard coded into the contract? I.e. after July 1st 2017 a full NMC clause comes into effect. That can't be disputed, surely?
