  1. Seriously, trade Spiller. He's not as fast as advertised, and his vision, balance, and decision making are below average. Still a stud, but not a bull.
  2. I don't like Russia trying to annex parts of the Ukraine. I'm OK with the Crimea, because, as another superpower we should respect the geo-political significance of their military base, otherwise, we'd be taking away from them, and yeah they'd get itchy trigger fingers. We're historical enemies, and the rhetoric from Washington has perpetuated the animosity, and Moscow has not backed down. The common ground is money and influence, and I'm fine with sharing some of that in Europe, and Russia can have the Crimea. Let's shake hands. Nothing gained nothing lost. Mutual respect.
  3. Is ping-pong good training for goalies?
  4. Solid post. I love Hawerchuk. Why not raise his number? That's an aside, though. New Guy has got a long way to go before he can be considered "The Next Hawerchuk." I loved that era too. We were going all out for the big win, and just got a smidge unlucky. I wish I weren't shackled to this reality: that we are balls-out tanking and hoping for a miracle.
  5. Happy Birthday!
  6. I was looking for banging on the metal bleachers, which was unusually loud that day, because fewer butts made for better resonance. Admittedly, that was a tricky question. By the time Andre did that two hand behind the back spike, the place was going nuts. OK. You two can both keep your fan cards. I'm not really The Fun Police. I actually have very little authority here. Just go on about your business.
  7. The timing is all wrong on a new pipeline. Democrats have no reason to make that compromise, in my opinion. A pipeline would put a lot of truck drivers and train workers out of work. Bad for the economy. http://www.cnn.com/2015/01/20/us/yellowstone-river-spill/
  8. That's funny Tank. Winning at all costs, you call foul. Losing at all costs, you're balls deep.
  9. So, let me get this right. You're saying that if we finish last, we get the top pick in next years draft?
  10. Lot's of people say they were there. I believe you, but, just in case, what was the unusual very loud noise that us fans made during the second half of that game. If you can answer, you have me entirely convinced.
  11. Brandade de Morue au Gratin, my good man. Brandade de Morue au Gratin. ;)
  12. Crap avatar. Way too modern for my tastes. Aside from that, you're mad as heck, and you're not going to take it anymore. Well, I'm madder than heck. What if we picked second, and pick one wins everything, and we win nothing. That would just burn my toast! See how mad I am? What do you think about that?!
  13. Just use your imagination. :flirt:
  14. Some people just don't get it. You don't need to be lonely, At 19th Century Babes Only.com.
  15. One time I just threw a burnt Lilac twig in a pot. Now I feel like a barbarian. :wallbash:
  16. It's my quest for a pork substitute. I really appreciate some things with bacon, for example, linguine carbonara. The smoke paprika really fills the void when you add the requisite oil, salt, and a touch of sugar too.
  17. That sounds sumptuous. I would love to try it. Some people don't like liquid smoke. I'm not sure why, but I read of a way just to get some wood smoking in a tight pot that achieved the same effect. Coconut is a whole new world to me, more or less. I want to try it.
  18. Just check this out, and see what you think about how they're calling it in Russia: http://sptimes.ru/in...41646&section=3 "All of the principles for which "Charlie" ostensibly stands — freedom of speech, democracy, tolerance, etc. — have, in a sense, been set in stone by modern society. But in that process of petrification, they have lost their deeper, more nuanced meaning, to the point where they now have little more significance than mindless, zombie-like chants at a football match."
  19. My bad. Nolan is getting worse results. ;) He's getting less wins ;) than last year. That's bad because we want to win ;) because we have such a good ;) roster.
  20. I just finished a 24oz Pabst, and drank two more before that, so I'm not needing to go to the store to buy more. That's about a six pack of Pabst. That's about right for me. Do I wish I had some fancy Vodka to sip? Yes. I also just heated up some homemade borscht. I made it vegetarian, because I didn't have any beef stew meat, and I don't mind going vegetarian during lean times. Beans are interesting. I'll tell you what. I'll never be vegetarian, I don't think, but I am practicing and seriously considering not eating pork as a routine. I picked up the Bible, by chance, and scanned a verse about how Jesus was like, hey, those rules don't apply to me. Anyway, I've noticed not feeling great after eating pork, so I looked into it some more. Important to me was finding a substitute for bacon, and I fashioned a sort of mushroom bacon, by marinating mushrooms, and baking them. The key ingredient is smoked paprika. That gives it the smoky flavor. The bacon turned out good, and the things that I was reading about pork reinforced my decision. Sometimes, you just want to feel good about yourself, like you're doing something good. For example, not eating pork, or not watching football for a week. It feels good. I guess it sets me apart. Whoo hoo.
  21. Hockey team lost in the shootout. Basketball team, who wore 409 T-shirts, defeated in overtime. Nobody believes in Karma, because nothing it related to anything else.
  22. Gogol is a big one. Neo, you have a lot of credibility. You're definitely Gorky, with more staying power, 'cause you've outlasted Stalin. Gogol is huge. The mere mention of his name makes Yuri cringe, because he's like the prose version of Shakespeare in Russian. Mind you, Shakespeare is like New York City. Gogol is like Moscow. Pushkin is St. Petersburg, somehow someway eclipsing the Capitol. Olesha is nothing. Bzdorzhzo. Someday maybe something.
  23. Nolan got better results than Rolston by about 10% wins, and he's actually getting even better this year. If you consider the roster, 10% improvement year to year would be considered to me near miraculous.
  24. You are SO Dostoevsky. I call Olesha. PA can try to be all Solzhenitsyn.. Lots of BIG pieces to fill.. I'm also a little partial to Tolstoy once I grow up.
