Actually, the likely outcome is that pick doesn't have a meaningful NHL career.

At best, a 3rd round pick in 2021 will be an NHL player of Vesey's caliber in....2025/6. I just can't imagine caring at all.

Goals are a fickle mistress. Went from shooting above his career percentage to below. That'll do it. Almost certainly plays a role in the percentage drop. Go from Marner to...Marleau?

Kadri hasn't. But if Marner gets his $11.5M, somebody else may have to go.

Probably cheap replacement for Kadri if they have to move him to fit Marner under the cap.
