I don't swear in front of mama either, never allowed the kids to either.

Funny story, last week I was in my recliner reading and my wife asked me to toss her the remote.  I was reluctant and against my better judgement I tossed it to her underhanded.  Doink!   It was as if her forehead was a backboard.  Well of course it hurt her for what seemed like hours upon hours.  Yesterday she asked my to toss her the remote again.  I got up off the recliner and put it in her soft little hand.

During halftime of the week 2 or 3 bills game, I went outside with her family to toss a ball around, which we do whenever we can. My wife can catch, but I wasn't really thinking and zipped a ball on a rope right to her face. She didn't speak to me for a while after that lol

Well I got a good chuckle or too.

I am not on the list, but my friends and family will tell you I am a sonnofabit@h when I lose.

I believe it. Everyone can join the list, because the GDT does get nasty when we lose. I'm actually the opposite funnily enough, I shriek and rage on here but IRL just chuckle and toss the remote to my wife. She doesn't like when I swear or anything

Sometimes @PASabreFan makes me think that, if enough of us cared enough, we would.

When I saw the entire lower bowl empty out during the last commercial break against NYI to try and beat traffic, and then saw NYI score a goal, I wondered about our fans.

BTW, the arena has been empty enough this year that there has been very little traffic no matter when you leave.

This is one of your funniest post yet.  Just list all your friends and make up things that can never be proven, and then hope they agree with you.  ?

I can understand why the other poster said what he said to PA.  He can come off negative at times, and dare I say contrarian to the current Sabres pop culture.

Sure, @PASabreFan is a loyal long time fan.  From what I can tell, he and I have a very similar disdain for the way ownership has run this club, just as we have a similar love for the early days when we all took managerial competence to be a given.  I have no idea how much he hates losing relative to anyone else, and neither do you.

Happily admit to making a goofy post. I'm not sweating it. You're not on the list!

Still, the worst post in this thread is what that guy said about PA. It's as wrong as you can possibly be, whether you like or hate PA.

This right here, it's total bull$#!t.

A list of people who truly hate that the Sabres lose and regularly exhibit some level of desperation that they fix their problems:
    PA
    Thorny
    Callaway
    Sabremike
    me

I'm not sure how many more posters I can add to this list, probably a few. Weave is one I missed. That doesn't mean other people like losing, or are fans "the wrong way." It's just silly for that other poster to say that PA wants us to lose when very few hate it more.

Would be nice if this a thing (Buffalo News):

Through seven games, Thompson’s line with Greenway and Cozens on the wings has controlled 65.57% of the shot attempts and 76.4% of the expected goals share at 5-on-5, according to Natural Stat Trick. They’ve earned 11 high-danger scoring chances in those situations and, as impressive, they’ve only allowed four while often skating against the other team’s top players.

“You mention top line, and the key is to not have a top line,” Granato explained. “The key is to have top lines. With Mittelstadt, Tuch and Skinner, you have that. I say that because we aren’t the ones to decide who our top line is. It’s the other team and who they are matching against. Are they matching against the Thompson line or are they matching against the Mittelstadt line? Their top defensemen, their top checking line. We’ve seen that alter a bit, which means that you’ve got two top lines – two lines that preoccupy the opponent.

“I’ve talked about the importance of that and the importance of offensive depth for that reason. If we can get that going better, that’s a very, very powerful thing that we have not yet gotten to the point where we can. That’s a bit of an initiative for us, to move in that direction.

Before last game, Thompson's on-ice PDO was like 91% or something. It's coming.

  6. The Sabres need to be much tighter at the end, but NHL officiating is an absolute travesty. You cannot ignore like 3 senator penalties all period because the game is "over" and then give them PPs when they board our players. It is a completely inauthentic way to drag a team back into the game. Jarring, and obviously unnatural. Call the ***** rulebook. Otherwise, looks like we are still road warriors. Keep that up while trying to fix the home issues

but that's extremely short sighted to trade a player like Savoie+ for Hanifin and then follow that up with an extension at a minimum of 6x7mil

Thompson Tuch Skinner Cozens Mittelstadt Quinn Peterka Benson Rosen Kulich

Owen Power is averaging 24 minutes per game this year, and is overwhelmed half the time he's out there right now

What on God's green earth are you talking about "short-sighted"

26 minutes for Dahlin on a Monday in October against a bad team

I can already see us trying to tell wookie in March that yes, it is Kevyn's fault Dahlin is laboring an injury as we frantically chase 8th from 9 points out in February, because he built a team that required this sort of thing

Owen Power will be fine. Sophomore slumps are a thing.

Hes just had a funny bad game today.

Like Dahlin jumping up there but he can’t be playing this many minutes every game this early

Luckily it's a development year - he'll learn a lot eating the 25 minutes per night we are giving him.

You get out what you put in I guess!

  10. The Skinner - Mitts - Tuch line had better measurables in almost every way than Skinner - Tage - Tuch. This is not a slight to the line with Tage, which sustained elite performance for an incredibly long period of time. Mitts' stint was obviously shorter since it came so late, there is no telling that they would have been capable of maintaining that pace without actually seeing it happen. But great to see them pick up where they left off, and it's a great option to have in the bag when you need to shake things up.

Frankly, I would of pestered Nashville about Saros and had my analytics guys do a deep dive on Gibson to see if there's any hope he can turn it around. For all we know Adams did something akin to this but we are in the dark. For all we know the league as a whole is playing screw the Sabres with goaltenders and we'd be none the wiser.

That's just silly though! I believe kevyn does his due-diligence but then gets gunshy, and this offseason was just the worst time imaginable to do that, because they created so much leverage to springboard from. If they really let all the energy out of the spring the way it looks like, there's really no telling how ugly it can be or how much work it might take to try and wind up again. Just an all-time fumble if they can't claw out of it starting basically right now.

I understand, I'm honestly just extremely risk adverse and have a difficult time believing any move would work to begin with. The most likely outcome is us getting garbage goaltending and trading superstars because that is the Buffalo way in regards to luck. So at this point I'm just too beaten down to really feel anything about hunting down better goaltending since I don't see it likely improving regardless of the move in question.

On a side note I want a new goalie coach, we've seen far too many goalies struggle here to keep the same guy around every year.

The Sabres did this to you, and the Sabres continuing to act in this way will make unbearable, soul-crushing hockey happen again, and we will be booing some of these guys in a few years just like we do Eichel.

So in effect your idea would be to effectively just bring in every UFA goalie imaginable. How do you do it when goalies want 2 year contracts as well as young goalies need to play? I'm not saying he shouldn't have targeted a Reimer or something in the offseason but there isn't exactly much out there better than what Levi can give us and UPL and Comrie still exist.

I am just trying to get through to you that just because something didn't happen, and because OTHER TEAMS didn't fix their goaltending (most teams did not need to do this nearly as bad as we did, so of course they would distribute assets differently), doesn't mean that there is nothing we could have done! Other teams that finish bottom 5 3 and 4 years ago, left us behind a long time ago. We still languish, and each season along the way I was on this board pointing out "Hey our goalie situation is terrible and it's going to guarantee a continuation of losing" and it did every single time. This is by definition failure, not *shrug it's fine nothing we could do*

Losers think this way. Losing franchises act this way. That's what we are, and I don't want you, wookie, to be that too.
