Fixed the short term trajectory, 3-5 to 6-6 means we won 3 of the last 4.
The Flyers in your building should be about a 3/10 on the adversity scale, and the Sabres melted down. The Leafs continuing to punch you in the mouth in their building should be about 9.5/10 on the adversity scale - for whatever their problems are in the playoffs, Toronto is an absolute terror to play in the regular season, they skate as fast and shoot as hard as anyone - and the Sabres just chuckled and punched right back. It's maddening because the team that came tonight is the team we hope can win 50 games. They HAVE to figure out how to do this at home!
Nobody played poorly, every Toronto goal did absolutely nothing to change the way our guys played, they were confident every shift. I know part of it is that Toronto can't play as heavy as teams like the Flyers, but there has to be more to it.
Tage is a blessing, an incredible player. Mitts is dangerous every time he steps on the ice. I didn't see much of Ryan Johnson but he made a few calm, heady plays under heavy pressure and of course that pass... vintage Tuch on the ENG
We've beaten Carolina each of the past two seasons now, after going many years between wins. Bring this effort to that game and you can take those points too.
We are 3-0 when Bryson plays and 3-6 when he doesn't

Button it up Levi, 2 third period goals is plenty.

The Canucks love cerebral swedes with buzz cuts

Just keep playing, you're just as good as they are

Pretty good period. Be a real team and close it out.

It's like 05-06 again, this whole game is special teams. They've all been reasonable calls

They played alright in that frame

Friend who is in Toronto says Ryan Johnson just got out of a car in Toronto.
he says Biro has left in a car.
Is he hiding in the hotel bushes with binoculars?

Serious question: what if they come out in a coma again, get smoked by the Leafs, the only cheering in the building is by Leafs fans and the boos rain down again from the Sabres fans? Does TP do something precipitous?
I don't think he will, but the likelihood is greater than zero.
This game is in Tronna for the record.

The fanbase has been bewitched. I'm texted by my buddy every day some version of "maybe they should try bringing up Kulich to fix the problem." He's a smart guy. He has a new idea every 2 weeks but they're all rochester players who've never played a second of nhl hockey!

What is a real move? Not a call up from Rochester. Not bringing up the next rookie for a tryout.
Like a trade that would be the talk of the league for a week, or a firing

Would anyone sign up for 4 straight losses if it meant a real move of some kind to show we are actually trying to save this season? I think I would.

With all do respect. Once again you say moves. Not specific at all. Living room GM's.
Did you read the post? We dont know who Kevyn was on the phone with, what they asked for, what he said no to. You can't just say that Tarasenko or something is the only guy we could have signed. There are whispers that we were in on Hanifin, but he didn't move. Presumably kevyn balked, because that has been his MO. we want him to "lose" the trade to make us better, because that's better than staying bad because he is paralyzed to do ***** anything. He is losing the war to win a battle. I don't have to tell you any move i cant know was possible. I just have to point to the standings, and point out how obvious our unaddressed needs were. God knows we spent all summer talking about them.

I’m not passionate about this debate, but 1) I believe you can’t flame the GM for a lack of moves if you cannot express a jealousy over a logical move the guy didn’t make. And 2) the rebuild started when Eichel was traded, and that was 1.5 seasons ago. Can’t we agree that it was a seminal moment and the vacuum should start there?
What move did you see that the Sabres brass missed and should have made? It is important to articulate this because otherwise we can just be mad at our GM for not trading for Connor McDavid every year. That’s not logical.
Moves that got made are not the only moves the Sabres could have made.

UPL deserves another shot before I say it’s the old him again.
He didn't have a good game but I'm not sure how he could have.

Eichel's team is 10-0-1
Man oh man

I hope I never choke as bad as Adams did when it was his serve in July
Watching Kyle Okposo is a surreal experience
Kevyn peed his pants and ran back to his mom

Really, this game should have also happened Wednesday, the difference today is the Flyers weren't unlucky and UPL wasn't as hot. It's not alarming that you have a flat game - what's alarming is that this team has answered you before, you had time to prepare for both of the games, you got lucky in the first game, and still played even worse in the second one. You could see Torts' smirk a couple of times. He knew he had us. He knew who he was up against and it made him laugh.
What does a team that REALLY has expectations do when the season starts like this? When 2, maybe 3 of the first 11 games are acceptable efforts? There are answers to this question but we probably aren't going to see our team answer them. How long does it take for those things to happen when a team is serious? Probably not much longer. But if there's one thing our Sabres know how to do, it's let extreme situations fester for unimaginably long stretches of time with no antiseptic
I regret ever laughing at the Kane idea. Give me something, anything to show that you have life and an ounce of diagnostic ability.

Oh no. We may not have had a match for an end of game scrum when it was 5 -1. What are we gonna do? If we would’ve had someone to win that fight then maybe JJ Peterka wouldn’t miss that goal or throw that bad pass to the blue line or pass a puck in the someone’s skates every shift. Maybe power wouldn’t put it into the other team skates every shift. I would’ve solved a lot of hills if we could’ve just won that end of game fight.
I remember the time you got pissed Cozens fought in a 3-2 loss @ NYR three years ago, and said that it was a waste and pointless and nobody would remember it, and the players talked about how much they loved it and were still referencing it once in a while more than a year later, and fans still remember it too, far more than they ever would a regular 3-2 loss in the spring
Too bad the Sabres aren't Men Of Reason like you

Agreed. They will give him more chances than he is worth due to his part in the trade. Front office has to do their best to “win” that trade.
It seems to be the overarching goal of this entire operation, trade victories

this was an embarrassing effort - total undisciplined team. and what the fukk has Krebs done to earn PP time? He's been garbage all year, on pace for 7 points, and if Ka and Granato had any balls, obe sent to Rochester
Our second PP has Krebs, KO and Power lol. These guys have combined for about 2 scoring chances in 11 games

I am rooting for the trend to continue out of spite
Just saw the highlights again and noticed his shot block to spring Peterka on a breakaway. We didn't score but that was a helluva block.
