  1. Moving out girgs for the sake of moving on is not something I would do if I was in charge of an organization that so thoroughly gets the bottom 6 wrong and brings in 10 players that ruin those lines for every helpful player they add
  2. Do points really scale with ice time, in the regime where players typically vary? I'm skeptical, especially when we see gaps like 0.07 point differences lol I guess I'd just be more interested in looking at a typical stat line, GP G A
  3. Sabres fans will drink from a well, get poisoned within an inch of their life, and then return to the same well for a drink as soon as they feel better again (Lashing out with full-on character assaults on good, fine, reasonable hockey players and then watching the player have success elsewhere in a way that renders a lot of their worst moments unforgettably embarrassing, while their team is in the exact same spot years later)
  4. [This is an automated response] I am out of office and will be returning never. I will respond to any emails at that time. Please reach out to _______ in the meantime. i am sorry for this inconvenience.
  5. McDavid is better at hockey than Crosby ever was. *changes name and flees the continent*
  6. Florida is a better team playing better hockey right now than Pit, they have a better chance against Boston
  7. I don't really like the high-level "well they're going to finish where you expected them to" No team at any level of a rebuild should escape serious criticism and questioning for performances like the Sabres have put up at home in general, and during the last 3 weeks overall. Play like this has no place in any serious professional sports "plan" or "build" or "rebuild."
  8. If the season ended today, the defensive zone coverage and PK were far enough below reasonable expectations that I would want some changes in the assistant coaching staff. I get that we weren't going to win a cup this year, but that doesn't mean that elements of your team have free license to be abject failures. If we give up touchdowns at home the rest of the way I might ask for more.
  9. It really sucks that two years of cap leverage in a covid cap crunch was completely wasted and not used to help the team one ounce
  10. I think that's my point. There exist coaches who have gone through stretches like this one and have come out the other side. Nobody in this staff or front office has ever done anything like this, so it's absolutely important to talk about whether or not they can right this ship. They DON'T have answers yet because it keeps happening. Everyone is a first-timer at their job at this level, except for Marty Wilford who apparently is real and apparently had 2 years as an assistant on bad Ducks teams This collapse is serious stuff. It's the sort of thing that put a dagger in previous rebuild attempts, and it needs a fix.
  11. There is a spectrum of reasonable and unreasonable takes for any topic. But yours isn't where you would peg it, in some idealized "middle ground." There are serious questions and worries about the way this team is disintegrating, and a completely green staff which has no answers and has no history to give confidence they can find them.
  12. The islanders actually give up loads of scoring chances. They are just good at clogging the NZ
  13. Yep just had to pick some names, there are plenty of guys available via Ufa or trade that can fit the bill. No excuse for this not to happen
  14. Are we confident than Adams and Granato/staff can clean this all up by October? Is Kevyn a real gm? Is Don a real coach? Disturbing times
  15. Uhhh I just checked the lineup the Predators iced tonight PHILIP TOMASINO CODY GLASS MATT DUCHENE KIEFER SHERWOOD THOMAS NOVAK LUKE EVANGELISTA YAKOV TRENIN COLTON SISSONS COLE SMITH EGOR AFANASYEV MARK JANKOWSKI RASMUS ASPLUND RYAN MCDONAGH DANTE FABBRO TYSON BARRIE JORDAN GROSS JEREMY LAUZON CAL FOOT Holy ***** man
  16. If they win the lottery they should still trade the draft pick
  17. There are a disturbing amount of games left for them to sleepwalk through
  18. I was enjoying Dan when the season was still going well. He is impossible to listen to when the team shits itself. I'm not sure how much I can blame him for that, but it's a horrible experience listening to him splatter his commentary of games like this with rallying, positive messages nobody would ever believe
  19. We are quickly reaching a point where jobs need to be lost
  20. When the sabres have a 2 on 1 it is impossible for even their skill players to complete the cross-ice pass When the Sabres opponents have a 2 on 1 it is trivial, a formality, that this pass will be tape-to-tape
