Because Kahun has shown more individual skill (including ability to actually put the puck in the net) than a guy like Simon. We sort of need guys who can manufacture offense even if they're not tied to Sid/Geno's hip pocket. In the games where Kahun and Simon weren't on either guy's line, Kahun showed much more promise.I'm not against adding Sheary, I'm just not sure why the club was so quick to move Kahun to do it. I doubt Botterill was going to hang up the phone if JR offered Simon instead of Kahun.

I read a lot about Sheary when we traded for him, from Pens fans. They were intelligent and informative, and their takes wound up absolutely spot on as far as what we'd get from him. They are saying much better things about Kahun than they did about Sheary. I'm intrigued.

Frolik, Vesey, Sheary, Rodrigues. Two of these guys were moved. Two will likely walk, though there's a small chance Vesey stays. FWIW, we didn't sell last year did we? We added Montour, kept Pominville. It didn't help anything. Though, they were very obviously lost far before the trade deadline as opposed to this year. ------------------------------------- I don't think that the magic of not selling will inspire the players, but I think they're more likely to win with 22/28 still here than whoever their replacements would be, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to keep winning.
