  1. That wasn't a subjective claim, literally everyone I talk to about it in my family and among friends who are older resents Marv for those reasons lol I am not saying they are right or wrong, I am just refusing to go along with PA in this struggle
  2. I wasn't alive for the Super Bowls, but everyone I talk to resents Marv for constantly being outcoached in them and failing to win a super bowl with those absurdly talented rosters
  3. Not being difficult, but I thought Skinner's effort was noticably better in Ottawa than it was in Pittsburgh. That Marty is now praising Skinner's hard work after He Score Goal, tells me all I need to know about the story time adventure he went on this week
  4. Because Kahun has shown more individual skill (including ability to actually put the puck in the net) than a guy like Simon. We sort of need guys who can manufacture offense even if they're not tied to Sid/Geno's hip pocket. In the games where Kahun and Simon weren't on either guy's line, Kahun showed much more promise.I'm not against adding Sheary, I'm just not sure why the club was so quick to move Kahun to do it. I doubt Botterill was going to hang up the phone if JR offered Simon instead of Kahun.
  5. I don't need anything really, just noticed that you can't get stuff from there anymore for free
  6. I read a lot about Sheary when we traded for him, from Pens fans. They were intelligent and informative, and their takes wound up absolutely spot on as far as what we'd get from him. They are saying much better things about Kahun than they did about Sheary. I'm intrigued.
  7. I'm glad they a.) inquired b.) didn't go further than what Carolina got him for
  8. I think you should forward these ideas to Krueger
  9. hockeyviz.com Evolvingwild doesn't let you get anything without supporting them on patreon so that's why those RAPM charts are so absent this year hockeyviz has stuff you can access without the subscription
  10. Apparently, Curtis Lazar is what drags the Sabres to the dull corner of Tierney's chart thing
  11. I don't have anything offhand, just from what I've picked up watching. He just seems effective back there. Here, do you like these pictures? Because this one agrees: Threat is a simplified expected goal model. It's not anything to build your lineup off of, but negative 15% is a strong positive in the defensive zone by the model Lol, offensively, his threat is -19%
  12. He's good defensively. He has that same offensive impact we've grown weary of though
  13. Frolik, Vesey, Sheary, Rodrigues. Two of these guys were moved. Two will likely walk, though there's a small chance Vesey stays. That's acceptable for me, ESPECIALLY when the two get moved for a young RFA player that seems to be decent, rather than mid round picks. Honestly pretty close to an ideal realistic trade deadline outcome
  14. FWIW, we didn't sell last year did we? We added Montour, kept Pominville. It didn't help anything. Though, they were very obviously lost far before the trade deadline as opposed to this year. ------------------------------------- I don't think that the magic of not selling will inspire the players, but I think they're more likely to win with 22/28 still here than whoever their replacements would be, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to keep winning.
  15. It's reading like they have too many of these RFA guys to sign and were going to have to ditch one or two of them, so they did it now in this way because they like Sheary and they think ERod has good analytics. That's the impression I'm getting. Fans liked Kahun and think the GM liked Kahun, but he just wasn't Sullivan's guy.
  16. This is a fair point. They're talking to the fans booing after normal first periods, creating ugly scenes at KBC while I sat in my seat cringing and wishing they'd stop
  17. Their angst was definitely not in tune with what I was feeling about today
  18. Pens fans are talking like Sullivan didn't like Kahun. I wonder if Ralph will like Kahun.
  19. That looks pretty good. Wouldn't be surprised if it shook out that way Will these guys be ready to go in Colorado on Wednesday?
  20. Daydreaming about prime Wayne Simmonds
  21. Almost surely. He really was a lot worse this season for whatever reason, but I don't see why that would warrant a sickened reaction to the idea that he'd find his game elsewhere and, heaven forbid, have a good time
  22. There are actually bad people with their names on the cup, and nobody cares, because that's how humanity works There are bad players on every cup winning team You don't make many sense
  23. Wayne Gretzky was pretty good too back in his day. We should try and acquire someone like that and play them instead of our bad players
  24. No, I'm talking about effort. It was consensus on this forum as recently as last season that the dude was unskilled but tried harder than the rest of the team. You're just making stuff up and displaying disturbing personality traits
