NHL draft lottery results. Sabres are pick 13.
Brawndo replied to Happy Days's topic in The Aud Club
Sam Ventura was hired less than three weeks before the 2021 draft did not hire Dom Galamini (October 2021)and Matt Barlowe (January 2022) until later. The 2022 Draft was the first one that the analytics department was up and running for. Although I believe there was one pick that was made without full support of that department in the second round. It was the analytics department would wanted or trade up from 28 for Kulich. Fortunately the board fell their way. -
KO gets one more year if He wants it as GMKA has mentioned. Zemgus will be 30 next season is probably looking for a longer term deal in the 3-4 year range. Will the Sabres be interested in doing that? Zemgus said at the end of year, he would like to be back but this is a business. Adams has mentioned Okposo however has been coy about Zemgus. If the idea is to keep Krebs as the 4th Line Center, it would be much better for him to have wingers with some offensive finishing ability which Zemgus certainly does not provide.

There is almost zero chance that Adams attempts an offer sheet for Frederic, he doesn’t need to. Kevin Fiala and Devon Toews are two recent examples of RFAs who were moved by their teams for cap purposes.

None of the three 2022 Jack Adams Finalists are still HCs

Kane is deathly allergic to playing defense. To say He sucks in His own end is a gross understatement. The Sabres have zero need for for a winger with a declining skill. If you are looking for a forward with playoff experience look for one who can provide something the team does not have now. JT Compher, Haula, Frederic or Pierre Engvall would provide this.

Would be a great replacement for Zemgus. Has identical defensive metrics but also drives offensive possession. Evolving Hockey has his most likely next deal at 3 years 2.9 Million AAV
-
Using Hockey Viz’s Model Fox and Karlsson were better at driving offense Dahlin was better than Makar on offense. Dahlin had better defensive metrics than all of them. Same with Evolving Hockey.

His metrics have fallen off a cliff. There is a segment of the Front Office that is dead set against this. Plus both Adams and Granato have had personal contact with Him, Granato as a coach and Adams as his roommate during Kane’s Rookie Season. I’m sure that’s enough to make an informed decision on why he is not a good fit for the team

Levi and Quinn (and now Krebs) make Team Canada for IIHF 2023.

Adams went out of His way to praise Nick Craven, who is the Amerks strength and conditioning coach and the job he has done. Appert in an interview mentioned how he connected Craven with the lead trainer of the USNTDP who developed a training method for increasing lean muscle mass during the season. One takeaway from Adams interview was why he didn’t keep Chris Taylor in Rochester was that he wanted the coaching staff to stress development. Appert has done this by setting up a daily regimen for the prospects including time in the shooting room, weight room in addition to time on the ice. This has lead to positive results with Quinn, Peterka, Kulich and Rosen. I think Rochester is the best place for Östlund.

Dahlin is not one of the three finalists

Lance Lysowski confirmed he was in Buffalo to meet with the team doctors yesterday and will be spending time in Rochester as the team tries to convince him to over and play with the Amerks next year
