  1. Haha you know what, that's not too far.
  2. Oh no it wasn't anything specifically about you or anyone. I got your sarcasm haha. I was just saying I think people who like fighting and hitting who truly like hockey still like the Olympics as everyone. My point was those who complain about it either just prefer nhl hockey or are complainers XD
  3. I don't think the style of preferred hockey has anything to do with who likes Olympics. At all. I think people who complain about it just really like the nhl which I guess is understandable OR they just like to complain and have a pattern of complaining (shocker it's probably the latter)
  4. I still say keep and then sign a team friendly contract as a bottom 6 scorer. He has great character, works hard, and can occasionally get some goals
  5. How long were you together? And glad the tank at least didn't disappoint you haha
  6. Different rink size is suppose to be a big transitional factor but from what iv read the SHL is comparable talent to the AHL
  7. It's going to be interesting what they get for him. We'll see who is the winner if this trade shortly
  8. I don't think you take the consensus #1 and then trade him (I see what you are saying and I'm not saying its a bad idea, but I don't think it would realistically happen). If they think ekblad is that much better, then that gives us Myers, Ristolainen, Ekblad, Zadorov, McCabe, Pysyk. That's six potential top 2/top 4 defensemen. I think one or two would be traded, but it wouldn't be ekblad
  9. i thought we liked myers again. Nope? TRADE HIM
  10. Yea and they play again tommorow. Hopefully it's a good one
  11. Good catch and I cant wait!
  12. This is so silly. Hodgsons low is what he is now. A 40-60 point 2nd line center. Kassians low is what he is now, a bottom line grinder who has to shoot a very high shooting percentage to get to 20 points. It's not like kassian was this once a generation talent. He was a middle of the 1st round draft pick 4 years ago. There are such things as busts and players who don't improve. Armia, grigs, Ennis, Hodgson, kassian are no guarantees to ever improve. However Hodgson is the only one of those to reach a level if consistency in the nhl which is the biggest signs of someone who is going to continue to improve. Don't be such a homer. Kassian doesn't have a higher ceiling and floor than Hodgson. Cody obviously has a higher floor. If you want to say kassian has a higher ceiling, then fine.
  13. How can anyone take you seriously when you say stuff like that. Hodgson has a 0% chance of making the olympics, kassian has a 30% chance. What does that even mean? Where do those numbers come from? What point are you trying to prove?
  14. Oh no I think it was the right choice since he isn't AHL eligible (It was either the Q or keep him in the NHL). He clearly isn't ready for the NHL (no shame in that) and he doesn't have much to prove in the QMJHL. I'm not that down on grigs like everyone else just because he failed in the NHL as a 19 year old. Once he gets a chance to play in the AHL, we will see how he does in first year there. Its a tough enough adjustment to pro hockey in n.america (ask Armia or Gauthier-leduc who dominated the Q but still hasnt adjusted to the AHL in his second year there), so its no surprise that grigs couldn't perform in the highest level of pro hockey.
  15. No I really think grigorenko needs to be play in the AHL, not the Q or the NHL. I think he consistently produces at such a high level in the Q, that he needs to take the next step (AHL) to develop the game. EDIT: I was talking about grigorenko, thought I was in the grigorenko thread...
  16. Kid needs to be in the ahl edit: whooops thought I was in the grigs thread :wallbash:
  17. Perhaps salmon? Fried up with lemon juice and spices. Delicious
  18. And pointing out kassian is playing on the third line is goofy when Hodgson gets ott and leino as line mates. That's 1/2 3rd line, 1/2 3rd ahl line
  19. I just don't get it. I hope kassian is everything we hope he becomes and reaches his potential. A very solid two way power forward who can put up 60 points. Someone who can change the game with a hit, fight, or goal. But why can't you see what Hodgson can become? He isn't soft and he was projected to a be a two way scoring center who is more than competent in his own zone. He has improved a ton this year skating and defensively, and he is a very consistent point getter which is a big sign there is more to come. This is someone who can carry a line or a team when he gets hot It's so annoying you comparing kassians potential to what you think Cody Hodgson is. This is someone who was a top three prospect in 2010 who is devoting very nicely
  20. Nope. I had this long post typed up and realized there is no arguing with you. Kassian lack of offensive output at this point of his career is not a great sign. He only has a whopping 16 points this year because his shooting percent is near 20 percent. That isn't going to be repeated, and it creates false impressions. See drew stafford in 2010 (even that abnormal year he had a lower shooting percentage than kassian has this year). Hodgson on the other hand is producing points. And I don't know if you knew this, but hodgson was always viewed as a much higher prospect than kassian, and isn't a pure goal scorer. He is actually a two-way forward who is still developing that part of his game. Unlike kassian, his progress is going great and he has given us no concerns to be worried. Kassian however, hasn't shown an ounce of offensive upside. When educated hockey fans like ourselves look at this team, you should realize that we lack scoring talent. A person like cody in the system is exactly what we need and want more of
