We look like A$$ right now...stupid penalties, PK is killing us, and we were just outworked again.

I am definitely getting frustrated with this DirecTV DVR...stops recording when it wants, cuts off the end of movies...frigging pile of crap...I am calling them tomorrow. :censored:

Usually around the All-Star break (generally the halfway point of the season) they'll give you a half-season discount...maybe $99 for the rest of the season plus most of the playoffs...

That goal was basically the exact play I have been hoping to see the Sabres use on the power play - finding a way to get Big Al and Pommer some open looks from high in the slot. Great shot, now let's see if he builds on it since the 800-lb gorilla is off his back....

I'm not disagreeing - in any big game, I always want to see no.30 in there and no.43 right where he belongs - at the end of the bench. I only raised the thought of Marty starting since Ryan has had so many games in a row, and Marty has historically played well against the Habs - career record is 12-5-0, with a 1.93 GAA and .931 SV PCT against Montreal... As for the game, I see a 3-1 Buffalo win, where they skate with Montreal most of the night instead of making the Habs try to keep up with them...

Do we see Marty against the Habs? Ryan has started 13(?) straight, including the disaster against the Caps, and Marty has had some success against Montreal in the past. Is it time for a night off for Miller, or do we try to push him one more then let Marty play against Nashville?

Lazy. That has been the team's downfall - lately, there seem to be more and more nights where they are waiting to throw the switch and turn it on. Hopefully at some point the light will come on and they'll understand that they can't wait until the last few minutes of the third, kick it up a notch and skate out with the W. Might be the understatement of the night. Tough to single guys out when most of the team looked like crap - there were a lot of guys who seemed to be a step behind all night long, lots of pucks bouncing over sticks, bad passes, etc. It looked like a tired, lazy team tonight who either couldn't or didn't want to put the work in for the W. And seriously, I know its been beaten to death here, but can we PLEASE stop wasting a lineup spot on Peters? Come on, 4 shifts? WTF good does that do anyone? Not that having Paille in there would have made much of a difference, but I am getting completely fed up with them wasting a lineup spot on someone who is going to play less than 5 minutes.

Amen to that. Paille should be in and Peters out of the lineup, except when we play Washington on Dec. 26.

WHY do they show 30 seconds of Lindy's PC and then cut back to Sylvester and Roby? I'd rather hear from the coach's mouth what he thought of the game, and not what those tow think... Also, what a joke this New Era 3 Stars is. Why do we have to wait 30 minutes after the game ends for us to learn who the media thinks the best players of the game were? <_<

I don't disagree that he acted like an ass...but we see much worse all the time with guys chasing refs to complain about calls, coaches screaming & yelling, etc.... just seems weak, IMO. BTW, Roy got called for one a fews weeks ago for yelling at the ref after a non-call - I hope this doesn't turn into a pattern or reputation...?

I don't understand what Peters got the penalty for. I know they'll call you for throwing the gloves off, but that seemed pretty weak, IMO...

Both Goose and Novotny are on the ice for that faceoff, so why is the worse faceoff guy taking such a critical draw? Goose should have been the guy with Novotny there as a backup, not the other way around... Meh, really only thing to bitch about, I'm glad we held on and this road trip didn't turn into a big disappointment.

I think the last update on Tallinder was maybe by the end of December... Doesn't matter that much, though - his return won't make Kalinin stop turning the puck over, missing assignments or losing battles; it won't stop Lydman from making boneheaded passes through the middle of the ice.. As for Connolly - don't hold your breath. If he comes back and plays at the same level, great - but I am not counting on it.

And yet, he was on the ice at the end of the game when they pulled Miller....WTF? I said it earlier in the thread - Lindy should bring up a couple guys from ROCH for a couple games and start handing out press box seats to some of our more "comfortable" players...

I'm sure they will...I didn't want to start a flame war earlier, but if Marty is in net tonight, we're down 5-1 right now and we're all wondering if the boys have a four-goal rally in them...

This team is completely hanging Miller out to dry. Absolutely frigging brutal right now. No words to describe this mess.

I wouldn't call this a blueprint on how to beat us - we have been beating ourselves by making stupid decisions with the puck, losing 1-on-1 battles, stupid penalties, etc. Thankfully, Miller is doing his best Dom impression and keeping the team in the game until they get their act together.

Being outshot 29-13 after two...and we have to keep seeing this stupid Joe Nieuwendyk (sp?) video homage every 20 seconds, punctuated with shots of him holding that stolen Cup over his head on our ice...UGH.

Saw some article recently that said the NHL's "ice guru" is supposed to get some sort of gameday ice condition report from each home team, so he can keep an eye on rinks with recurring problems. I would assume the Sabres would complain to the league if they were constantly encountering crappy ice, but I honestly don't know if the league would even do anything.
