I know this is from a couple days ago, but I’m tossing it in here because Levi is great.  He’s definitely signing too.  No doubt.

What a great kid. Impressive interview. Well spoken, and a great attitude. He’s going to be easy to root for.

Should be that everyone is scored by the number of picks away that player is from where you have him drafted, lowest score wins.

So for instance if you pick someone 10th and he gets drafted 17th, you get a 7 for him.

If you pick someone 15th and he gets drafted 10th, you get a 5 for him.

Obviously picking someone exactly where they are drafted would give a 0.

I feel this is much better scoring system in terms of showing how accurate a person is overall.

Why should someone who projects a player to go 12th but he goes 14th get the same score as someone who projects him to go 30th?

In the original system, both players would have the same score, they would both get a point. In my system person A would get 2 and person B would get 16, accurately showing one person was far closer than the other.

Could even put a weight favoring later picks since they would be harder to get right than the early picks.

    I like this.

People get irritated when I bring up the Ullmark negotiation. So, I apologize for the belabored responses on this issue.  Many don't understand what my position is on this goalie issue. Ullmark was an UFA player. And it was apparent that his contract demands were increasing (as you noted). My criticism of the GM on this issue is that he didn't have an adequate fallback position if a deal couldn't be worked out with the goalie. Finding an adequate goalie is not an easy task under any circumstances. But when your primary goalie is an UFA, and he is equivocating in his negotiations, then a better backup option should have been prepared prior to the conclusion of the futile negotiations.

I'm hoping this offseason the GM will be able to come up with a better option for the position. In my view, how he addresses the issue will be the most significant transaction he will make this offseason.

We lost a very good poster over the Ullmark issue.

This tells me the Sabres were the problem.

and if Kane walks in a year, but you could have locked up VO for 3-5 years instead?  How much are you paying Kane to stay?  What about his poor off the ice reputation?

Kane isnt walking in a year. He waived his NMC to come here. He made it clear he wanted to end his career in Buff.

  5. If Chicago wants the cap space, and Kane has the NMC and wants to come here, then you don’t have to give up much. And screw waiting another year, secure his services now for cheap. He brings points, and can help show the rookies what it takes to succeed.

Give them VO and/or Johnson, and a 3rd rounder. No use for VO if Kane will be here.

I know goalie is what we need most, and this helps address it by making Buffalo a more attractive option.

    Produce.

Jack Quinn just had one of the 10 most productive AHL rookie seasons on a points per game basis of all-time, and the best in about in 30 years.

So, when Todd Simon averaged 1.39 points per game as rookie for the Amerks, that wasn’t better than the 1.35 points per game Quinn had this season?

Um, If you are implying that I am one of those fans who “even after winning the Stanley Cup, would find something to complain about,” just stop. Those fans don’t exist and never have. I think it is the most ridiculous thing when someone says that to another fan. It’s just stupid.

I’ll settle for just making the playoffs for the first time in over a decade and not extending our record setting playoff drought. Is that too high a standard?

    Playoffs would be nice.

Im glad to finally be experiencing them at least with the Amerks again.
