yeah but vanek is less "moveable" because of his huge contract. And they won't move him if he and tavares find chemistry and are in a playoff spot.

I was a little surprised to see that Moulson was one of the "local warriors." He grew up in MIssissauga and played college at Cornell.

Resign moulson, Sign Ryan callahan as UFA during summer and you got yourself a nice 2nd line off Moulson - Hodgson - Callahan

Do think its funny how people are making the islanders 1st round pick seem like nothing cause it won't be top 10.
I say Girgensons + zadarov showing alot of promise as midround picks :D

I'll miss Vanek but I see Moulson as a far more moveable asset to many of those more cap strapped teams at the deadline. Plus we have now 2 1st rounders in the upcoming draft plus 3 2nd rounders along with 1 1st rounder and 3 2nd rounders in 2015 thus far. We're certainly stacking the draft.

Also this is a very good time for hodgson to proove his "worth" without thomas vanek. Same goes for moulson without Tavares i guess.
The trade worked out well for both teams. Just the same way that I feel like the Vanek-Moulson trade will end up working out. Moulson is a Mississauga boy and a former Cornell University grad. He knows the Buffalo area well. His sister played college hockey at Niagara University. Moulson will be more apt to want to re-sign a long term deal to stay in Buffalo as he'll be closer to family in Toronto. Just ask Steve Ott, Cody Hodgson and some of the other Sabres what it means to ahev family and friends at every home game. -

I think on a good team he will be a good defender, but on a team lacking quality up front and needing leadership, he isn't the one that can give us a boost.
So yeah trade him to another team for a good forward.

Lol, you should watch more european qualifiers, there are no small countries anymore.
Those small countries often take points away from the big ones. well maybe not the likes of liechtenstein or faroer islands.
But lately any country in europe can win from anyone or lose to anyone.
hell england and france might not even qualify this year.

we're now 5 points clear of Croatia thanks to serbia keeping them at a draw and only two games left.
The Quality of the bench got put on display today with kompany , vermaelen and hazard out due to injuries.
Also Spain , Germany and Italy getting closer to locking the #1 spots in their groups.
