  1. Origin of the pass?
  2. This video quality is better than I expected
  3. https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/BUF/1975.html https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/MTL/1975.html Canadiens roster full of future hockey executives. John Van Boxmeer also on their team.
  4. Tuesday – Stanley Cup Playoffs semifinals, Game 2 (April 29, 1975): Craig Ramsey and Don Luce scored in the third period, and Roger Crozier made 25 saves in a 4-2 win, giving the Sabres a 2-0 lead in the series over the Canadiens. Buffalo advanced to its first Stanley Cup Final with a 4-3 win at Montreal Forum in Game 6.
  5. He did have some terrible playoff series and couldn't score in them. That created frustration, and the press and fans really let him know it.
  6. Andreychuk was run out of town by media and fans, imo. Talk radio howled about him. Last night kind of explains why. May was on that line for toughness. Dave Poulin was just assaulting LaFontain, basically trying to hurt him, as was the rest of the league. The officiating was cowardly, they mostly let it go and the backlash fell on Andreychuk who it was said was not tough enough to stick up for Patty. I think today that trade wouldn't be made as players are not allowed to just smash up the stars.
  7. That was strange, did it not happen or did they cut it out? Also, I forgot how awesome LaFontain's pass to May was. Wow, laying flat out he passes tape to tape to May. Sick. I had thought May had kissed his stick right before he scored, but it was earlier, though they replayed it a few times. Keith Carney was on the team but didn't stick around long. He went on to have a long and successful NHL career, another one that got away...
  8. https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/BUF/1993.html https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/BOS/1993.html Ok, here is a quick quiz question: Hasek and Fuhr played many games that season, but two other Sabres goalies of somewhat well known status were on the team also that year. Who were they?
  9. [spoiler hi]
  10. Derek Plante also on the roster
  11. Really?? Didn’t know that: JBott was a Dallas Star at the time 28 Jason Botterill ca LW 22 6-4 220 L/- 1 May 19, 1976 0 G, 0 A, 0 P
  12. I was in Hampton, Virginia near Langley AFB visiting a friend from the service when I watched this one. https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/BUF/1999.html https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/DAL/1999.html
  13. Great game last night. Real fun to watch. I appreciate that team team a lot more now after watching them play the last week. I had not learned how to skate by 1999 and I now do so I see the game a lot different than I use to. Satan was better than I remembered. What a real talent he was. Dixon Ward was pretty darn good. What happened to him?? Balanced scoring sure helped them. And a great power play. And it seemed like they just threw whoever was on the bench out at forward on the PP. And it worked. And again, boy do I wish we had a Mike Peca on this team now.
  14. I thought we were sunk in this game, Roloson did not impress me at all during regular season. Sabres played a great game. I wish ash we had a Mike Peca on this team now. How they screwed up his contract was so unacceptable. Shameful
  15. If it’s anything, it’s about Skinner. Botts gave him 72 million or something and Ralph hates him. What else could it be?
  16. Grant Ledyard played for 18 years and nine different teams. He’s now the head coach of the Buffalo Jr Sabres. I looked him up because he really roughed up Stu Barnes “last night.” Was surprised to see him playing for Boston.
  17. If the pick isn’t that high, maybe we trade for an above average goalie
  18. This is cool, 1999 on TV now! Be glad to see that group again. Here's the complete schedule: Monday – East quarterfinals Game 4 (April 27, 1999): The Sabres' 4-3 win over Ottawa completes a stunning series sweep over the East's No. 2 seed. Tuesday – East semifinals Game 4 (May 14, 1999): Dominik Hasek makes 24 saves in a 3-0 win over Boston that gives the Sabres a 3-1 series lead. Wednesday – East semifinals Game 6 (May 18, 1999): Curtis Brown scores the game-winner in a 3-2 victory over Boston that wraps up the series. Thursday, April 30 – East finals Game 1 (May 23, 1999): Dwayne Roloson makes 28 saves in place of an injured Hasek as the Sabres get the jump with a 5-4 win at Toronto. Friday, May 1 – East finals Game 3 (May 27, 1999): Hasek makes 24 saves in a 4-2 victory that gives the Sabres a 2-1 lead over the Leafs. Monday, May 4 – East finals Game 4 (May 29, 1999): Geoff Sanderson scores two goals and longtime TV analyst Rob Ray scores a memorable tip-in goal in a 5-2 victory over the Leafs to give the Sabres a 3-1 series lead. Tuesday, May 5 – East finals Game 5 (May 31, 1999): Erik Rasmussen's third-period goal snaps a tie and holds up as the game-winner as the Sabres post a 4-2 victory in Toronto to advance to the Cup final for the first time in 24 years. Wednesday, May 6 – Stanley Cup final Game 1 (June 8, 1999): Jason Woolley scores on "the shot heard 'round the hockey world" as the Sabres post a 3-2 overtime victory in Dallas' Reunion Arena. Thursday, May 7 – Stanley Cup final Game 4 (June 15, 1999): Dixon Ward scores the game-winning goal as the Sabres hold off the Stars, 2-1, to even the series at two wins apiece. Friday, May 8 – Stanley Cup final Game 6 (June 19, 1999): The 2-1 triple-overtime loss that stands alone as a gut-punch in franchise history for the way it ended the Sabres' Cup dreams two wins shy of a championship.
  19. Lazar is a good player, and his face off skills get us points out of OT. Asplund is a potential player at this point
  20. Kotlik deserved a penalty there, lol
  21. Not my first, but close: Posted February 25, 2006 I remember that game clearly. Espisito was there and Gretz hadn't scored in a few games, nor did he in first and second period but Richie Dunn lost the puck and Wanye went in on Edwards--not Sauve mind you!--and scored. I think they stopped the game for awhile. I friend of mine wrote a poem about that the next day. We were in 8th grade Ya, that was an exciting time to be a Sabres fan! But its even better now!
  22. Sabres’ Eichel says head coach Ralph Krueger is ‘somebody that I look up to’ ★ ‘“His demeanour, the way that he handles himself in the locker room in front of everyone everyday,” Eichel said. “He’s somebody that I look up to a lot as a role model for leadership. There’s such a great respect there and I think that it’s mutual between the two of us.”’
  23. Thanks for posting that, it was great. Jay McKee saying they might have to cut off his leg and his reaction is, "Can I play tonight?" lol Love that team!
