Tampa had to start a no name goalie and he gave up five goals on seventeen shots. Even a great team can’t win with terrible goaltending Is there a good goalie shortage?

Well, I believe the point is, that you can’t say it’s the coaching change that is making the difference. Or Samson moving to center. Our goaltending was THE problem.

I don’t know about what others teams will offer him. That Colorado would actually trade for JJ makes me wonder if it’s going to be a sellers market for goalies this year. Maybe there is a good reason KA couldn’t find of decent backup before this season. Linus at 28 could easily get a five year offer. And we are screwed if he walks.

Tampa Bay started some guy in goal named Christopher Gibson and was destroyed by the lowly Red Wings today. Gibson is a journeyman goalie drafted in 2011 with only 15 or so starts in the NHL

I was always willing to wait on Casey, he’s young and you just never know. But I did not have much confidence he would blossom. I just didn’t see anything to hang onto there. But he is showing skill. That shot last night was impressive. Kudos to those out there that defended him! You had more faith than I did.

And Jack, Jeff, Taylor and Dahlin have 9 combined goals. Just saying, it looks like those youngster might be blossoming. And that would be nice

For such a terrible season, there sure have been some silver lining. Mitts and Tage blossoming before our eyes has been fun to see. Cozens has been good, too. Bryson is the real deal. Borgen sure looked good, and there appears to be more d-men on the way in the pipeline. Even Joki has looked a lot better lately. Ullmark has matured into a starting goal, perhaps just in time to get rich in free agency, but hopefully we can keep him. I’m hoping that Toker was not a one game wonder and can actually be someone we can use and win with.

I hope not, but every team in the league is watching him, I’m sure.
