  1. Power rankings, Calgary #1 https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10052879-nhl-power-rankings-calgary-flames-top-the-list-after-red-hot-start The B/R hockey staff isn't above such silliness, though we attempted to maintain our analytical personas in giving a first Power Rankings treatment to the league now that pucks have been dropped across the entire standings map. Three writers ranked the teams from 1 to 32 before Wednesday night's games and points were awarded in reverse orderβ€”32 points for No. 1, one for No. 32β€”to compile the list from bottom to top. Both the movement from last week's rankings and the collection of votes are listed with each team. 1) Calgary Flames (Move: +3 / Votes: 2, 1, 1) It's a good time to be a hockey fan in southern Alberta and a better time to be Flames GM Brad Treliving, whose offseason roster makeover is paying immediate dividends. The new-guy trio of Nazem Kadri, Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar has combined for 10 points in three games. 17. Buffalo Sabres (Move: +9 / Votes: 14, 15, 21) The Sabres immediately headed west after splitting a pair of home games to open the season, then passed their initial road test with a 4-2 win at Edmonton. Visits to Calgary, Vancouver and Seattle follow before Buffalo is back in friendly surroundings for an October 27 meeting with Montreal.
  2. I thought that was actually a bright spot in this young season. They held off a talented Ottawa team with the lead and won. And then this game in Edmonton.
  3. Just watched the game. Thought they played a great road game. Got the lead and hung on. Comrie was very solid but not spectacular. Not a lot of rebounds and the defence did a fine job clearing people in front. Peterka's smile is good to see πŸ™‚
  4. We have the 5th worse PP in the league right now
  5. Skilled scoring when opportunities present themselves is not luck. I remember hard working, low scoring Sabres teams of the past. Gotta have those finishers
  6. Opportunistic scoring is kind of nice too
  7. I remember how Hutton was fresh and ready to go early in his last decent season and then just fell off a cliff...hard! I could see that happening to Anderson if we play him too much so its good we have options
  8. Or did our outstanding offensive players make him look that way? πŸ˜‡
  9. How did they look? Shots make it seem like they got dominated but our goaltending seems great!

  12. Just the first period for me. I'll watch the rest after work on replay
  13. He's a new daddy. Has other things besides hockey to think about? That has to change a person.
  14. There they are! This team can score
  15. JJ is on the ice, we are putting pressure on
  16. Nice defensive play by Tage, nice way to draw P by VO
