Not good for Merkley. Already a risky pick and now has another red mark against him https://twitter.com/saxononthestorm/status/967908006141640704

Jbot Do Something Already 3 - deadline edition

I agree with this, he will never be a point per game guy but 60 points with his net presence on the PP is well worth wanting to keep around. Let's leave him on the wing and no more messing around with 3rd line centre anymore -

Has Samson moved from the "who will be back" to the "I want him back" list Considering his last 20 games or so? -
I'm actually rooting for Mittelstadt to come out and for them to land one of the top 4 this year cause I'm ready for a turnaround. But I'm also a realist if none of their top, prospects are on the team next year. Do you see any other way you subtract Kane and some how improve next year?
-
Could Mittelstadts season come to an end next weekend? Minnesota is currently ranked 8th but got trounced by Penn State this weekend. They meet again at the Pegula sports complex next weekend in the big 10 playoffs. If they again lose, could miss out on an invite to the NCAA championship tourney? Could we see Casey in a Sabres uniform within the next 2 weeks?

Trade Deadline Deals 2018 (Non-Sabres Thread)
Crusader1969 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Last night the Preds held Yakov Trenin out of their AHL affiliates line up. Rumours are that they are involved with Karlsson but maybe could be a big piece of a trade for Evander Kane? -
If Casey stays in school and the Sabres draft outside of the top 4. I can pretty well guarantee we will all know the name Jack Hughes very early next season. I agree with you, next season could be worth skipping

What Should The Sabres Goals Be For The Rest of The Season?
Crusader1969 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Now 20 games into the 2nd half of the season, only 21 painful games to go 5 points in their last 5 bringing them to 17 points in the 20 games. A winning percentage of .425 If they play at this pace for the remainder of the season, they will end with 65 points. At 65 points they are 3% to finish 3rd last, 50% 2nd last and 47% in last I've been tracking Samson Reinhart as well. In the 2nd half of the season he has 20GP 6G 12A. 18PTS. An impressive .90 pts/game clip. -
Guess it depends who the better prospect is. If it's Kyrou from Blues or Fabbro from Nashville, then it's a good deal.

I should have the most recent list from ESPN. I'll post it for you tomorrow After reading Pronmans comments, I'm sticking with Svechnikov as my #1 prospect (outside Dahlin of course). I agree that the Sabr s need to draft dmen and I would like to see them pick up 2 with the (hopefully) late 1st rounder and the 32/33 pick There should be plenty of quality dmen still available. One name that you don't see too often is Rasmus Sandin from SSM. Was really impressed by him in my 1 viewing and what I've read about him. Scouts comments "really smart, moves the puck" "threads needle with passes". "Is he better than Merkley?" Ranked 33 by future considerations. 15 NHL central scouting (NA skaters) Game I watched the beat Hamilton. 10 - 0. Just need to watch the first 35 seconds of the highlife package. He wears #9 http://ontariohockeyleague.com/video-channels/highlights/feb-1618-ham-0-ssm-10

flyers get their goalie and it isn't Lehner I actually don't mind the combination of Ullmark and Lehner next year. Let the best swede win! -
Are these rankings from his own viewings or is it based on a poll of scouts?

Would you be upset if they put Kane in the press Box? -
A good write up from the draft analyst on the just completed u18 5-Nation tournament https://www.thedraftanalyst.com/international-tournaments/2018-draft-u18-five-nations-recap-and-scouting-reports/ Seems boqvist answered a lot of the questions people had about him and helped solidify himself as the 2nd best dman in the draft. The door is still open for him to break through into the 2nd tier of prospects and join Tkachuk, Svechnikov and Zadina.

Every draft is different. In 2016 and 2015 there were 2 can't miss elite prospects who you knew going into it would be top line players. This year, lucky enough, there are 4 top line players. If there were only 2 I wouldn't be so adamant about finishing last. -

You are right, picking constantly in the top 10 gets you no where. Picking in top 3/4 is where you need to be. For those who want this team to win out and finish as high in standings, what's your actual game plan to make this team good? Cause, I've seen enough to know this team isn't good enough. You can wait for them to learn to win or replace them with better players? I'll take the 2nd option. Every year we see teams turn around quick, no reason why the Sabres can't next season but they need to add better players. If you want to cheer for this team to win their last 23 games and move into 5th last, go right ahead. I'll love your passion for the Sabres and can't wait for you to actually have a team worth cheering for. Me, I'll watch every game. Hope to see some good hockey by Samson and a couple of others that will be here long term. But I won't get upset if/when they lose. I can see the silver lining and I see it literally by watching almost all of the Barrie Colt games and Halifax/ Boston U games when they are available. I'm sure there are a lot of people who think I'm not a real fan cause I hope they come in last place. The truth is, I like all Sabres fans want them to win the cup, I grew up idolizing Perreault, listening to the games on the radio. Cheering for the Sabres while living in th middle of leaf nation. I remember them being heavily favored in 1980 vs the Islanders but losing in the semi finals. I remember losing to the Bruins in OT In 1983. Brad Park scores but I still think Andre Savard could have blocked the shot. This is way too long a post but even after all these years I'm still optimistic that they Sabres will one day win a cup. Eichel is a great place to start, now let's add another good hockey player by finishing last -
Why don't the Sabres set the market? If it's a good trade - Take it!
-
I guess because usually the best players are often drafted at the very top. This team needs more good players and where else are you going to find them? Who should learn to play together? Half the guys out there yesterday won't be around next year. Why not replace them with actual "good players"?
-
I think it's safe to say they are 100% going to be drafting Dahlin, Tkachuk, Svechnikov or Zadina bad! And that's ok Coyotes have won 5 out of last 6 and got a point in their 1 loss. They are definitely better than Sabres right now and won't be unloading at the deadline.

Dobson will be the 2nd Dman off the board this draft.
-
Babcock didn't tear up because he got a good player at 7. Yes, I understand that they need to win a lottery to be top 3 but it looks like their are 4 no doubt about it "real" players in this draft. I'm hoping the Sabres get one. Even if it means to crawl across the finish line this season
-
if they do have a chance, hopefully its less than a 3% chance. Ive said it before, he is the number 1 guy i do not want on next years roster.
