The Prokhor Poltapov Appreciation Thread
Crusader1969 replied to Crusader1969's topic in The Aud Club
Poltapov’s team is one game away from winning the KHL championship been an up and down year for him, playing limited minutes though he has been playing on the 2nd line in the finals. next season should be interesting for him as he earns a bigger role on his squad I’m still very much excited to see what he brings as a power forward to the Sabres in a few more seasons. (3 I think ) -

Yes I was watching. Was looking for Matthews out there picking up all the sticks during the melee lol -

Sorry Dahlin and Cozens arent physical? Thompson has had a few fights including vs Chara. I wasn’t saying the leafs are soft. My comment was directed at Matthews and that he will never be a leader who takes his team anywhere -

Out of curiosity. Out of Dahlin, Cozens and Thompson - who is busy collecting sticks while their teammates are all involved in a scrum? -

Actually he didn’t drop them lol. Never got it gloves off And you have to be joking if you don’t think Cozens, Dahlin and Thompson would be part of the scrum. -

is there any worse leader than Matthews? playimg the roll of Molly Maid, picking up sticks, while a scrum is going on after the hit on point so happy to know that the Sabres leaders Dahlin, Thompson and Cozens would be right in the middle sticking up for their teammates When the playoffs come next season, the fight in those 3 will go a long way for them doing something that Matthews never has. … winning a playoff round -
Just doing some afternoon draft reading looking like both Reinbacher and ASP will both be gone before 13 The decision will be to take Simashev early, on the assumption he won’t be there when you draft again OR take the top forward at 13 and hope to fill in your defensive prospect pool with your 2nd rounders ??
-
i just might be 🙂
-
cause he hits things... Assuming KO and Girgs come back and they bring back Jost, I'll be very surprised if a forward outside of the organization is brought it. They have so many forwards in Rochester that are close to being NHL ready and only 2 spots available..Oloffson and Vinny.
-
I think we are debating two different things. I'm saying you can't afford him in 2024/25 but (I think) you are saying they can afford him next year - which is 100% the case.
-
How much is Tom Wilson costing you ? Would you agree Dahlin and Power are going to combine for about $18mill?
-
are you just saying this or have you actually added it up ? And no, the cap isn’t expected to rise until the 25/26 season. what do you expect Dahlin and Power to sign for combined ? if Mitts has a good season what will he get ?
-
You then either trade down or take the best fit at 13. , even though you might be taking him a tad high in Dmitri Simashev
-
It will be interesting. ASP may be the higher rated Dman but Reinbacher or Simashev would be what they need. I’m not loving it to be honest. I like the Muel type for both Dahlin and Power
-
The Dman, looks like a top 10 pick almost certainly
-
I think he’s long gone before the Sabres pick
-
How so? Have a look at their salary situation once Dahlin and Powers extensions kick in though a big question is what you pay Casey
-
Time to pull out the dictionary! ameliorate - make (something bad or unsatisfactory) better. "the reform did much to ameliorate living standards"
-
I wouldn’t get your hopes up for Tom Wilson Their cap space is going to get eaten up by the extensions kicking in. they wont be able to do a legit too 4 Dman AND Wilson
-
im feeling pretty confident that Girgs and KO are brought back and all the 2023/24 forwards are already in the organization already If I am KA, I'm spending the $6 til $8 Million I have available to offer on a longer term deal and use it on 2 dmen.
-
How much does Wilson get? i doubt the Sabres will be able to afford it.
-
How anyone could be down on JJP is beyond me. He created so many chances with his speed and skill. Just scratching the surface of his potential.

Potential Players available summer 2023
Crusader1969 replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Aud Club
so if you give $18mill between Power and Dahlin and Mitts $6 after a full year of growth (optimistic thinker) you should be able to offer around $6million per year for a partner for Power without worrying too much about the cap in 24/25. -

trying to figure out how much Power will Cost are you thinking $10m for the next Dahlin contract and $8m for Power Dahlin got $6mill for 3 years in 2021 Adam Fox got $9.5m off his entry level. Makar got $9mill is Power in this group? if so maybe they need to allocate $20million for the pair? -

here are the salaries that they need to figure out prior to 2024/25 before any big time spending in the summer of 2023. 1) Mittlestadt RFA (with Arb rights) after Next season. What if they get the Best of Casey in 23/24, what does he get? 2) Peyton Krebbs RFA after next season , whats his cap hit going to be? 3) is any other prospects besides Savoie, Kulich, Rousek ready for a full time role?. Would be great if a power forward like Cederqvist was ready as they need a couple of heavier players to fill out the forward lines 4) what are the numbers for both Power and Dahlin? Is $16 mill between the two of them enough to allocate? 5) need to filll the 5,6,7 spots. Do they have a prospect that can make an impact in 24/25? seems unlikely at this time. maybe if they use their first round pick on a Dman this summer? can you find another Lybushkin type at $2.75mill and Stillman type at $1.35 Maybe a step up and adding someone like Zadorov at $3.5mill If I give Mitts $6mill, Krebs $2mill, find a Tyson Jost type (if not him) at $3mill Allocate $16 million for Power and Dahlin add a Zadorov type ($3.75mill), a Stillman type at $2mill and $1mill for dman #7 and #8. I'm left with $8million to spend on a partner for Power. assuming $87,500 salary cap in 24/25 Which is obviously more than enough....so lets go big game hunting !!
