  1. Looks like he charged in then coasted the last few feet to avoid the charging call.
  2. Right leg was away from the boards and ended up hitting sideways. Looked ugly. Or maybe he mashed his Charlie Browns when his legs came together.
  3. The look on Miller's face says "I'm this close to just walking off the ice" He's getting no help whatsoever.
  4. Was Myers watching a girl in the crowd on that one?
  5. So who thinks the Sabres can beat Ottawa's record from the 94-95 shortened season (9-34-5 ties)? I'd love to see them win 9 games this year!
  6. Okay, who's been putting lube on Pominville's stick blades!? Dude can't seem to receive a pass to save his life these days. Oh, and I'm incredibly sick of seeing Hecht and Stafford's sad attempts at offensive zone entry. You know, just stand at their blue line and tell the opposing team's players, "here, you take the puck" and save yourselves the 10 seconds skating back.
  7. Not to mention they spent a lot of time on the penalty kill, particularly in the second period.
  8. I think I've figured it out: the Sabres and Capitals' players have secretly arranged a coach exchange. The Caps had so much fun getting Boudreau fired and running Dale Hunter out of town (let's pretend he actually wanted to stick around) that they're now putting Oates on the hot seat, hoping to land Ruff. The Sabres figured if they lost to the horrible Caps, Ruff would surely be on the hot seat himself. That didn't work, but they'll keep trying. Maybe in a few weeks Oates will be available and Ruff will land himself with Ovie.
  9. I am thrilled that there's going to be pro minor league hockey in Orlando again! The Orlando Solar Bears are back, this time as part of the ECHL (as affiliates to the Minnesota Wild and their AHL farm team, the Houston Aeros). It's technically a completely new franchise with the Solar Bears name, but I recently read that they are going to raise the banner commemorating the original team's Turner Cup win in 2001 and are inviting alumni to participate. I went to a few Solar Bears games back in 2000 or so before the IHL folded but I'm particularly excited to attend games this season. I'm seriously considering going to the home opener on October 20th.
  10. I've never been, but I know Firkin & Kegler Family Entertainment Center off Woodbury Rd and Waterford Lakes Parkway has 22 foot screens in their bowling area. A friend went there last weekend and later posted some pics of the bowling alley with hockey games on a couple of the big screens. Supposed to be a great place with good, cheap food and games so it might be worth checking out.
