  1. I'd like to think it's more a problem of familiarity, rather than consciously ignoring new posters. Easier to respond to someone who you've seen face-to-face at a meetup or know outside the board from somewhere. And I do understand that some posters have more time on their hands and are more likely to post than new members. Even with all that, I'm not sure of what the solution would be.
  2. Certainly not, but when it becomes a pattern you start to wonder. And I've seen it with other newer posters as well. I would think existing members, especially those like you that have been around a long time, would encourage new members by responding even sometimes if you think no response is required.
  3. Maybe there's a lot more people over there because new members stick around. There are village idiots on every board and they are eventually called out. I personally don't feel like anyone should be treated as a "newb" on an anonymous internet board, as everyone was a "newb" at some point. And as far as communication skills, you can find fault with everyone on this board at one point or another.
  4. Content is controlled by whether or not you respond to a post - ignoring posters with lesser post counts easily controls a thread. I'd like to know how many posters have left this forum because their posts never got responses. Contrast that to TBD where almost all initial posts get responses.
  5. This board just seems to give off the vibe of the good ol' boys club where a dozen or so posters control the content and responses to posts. I find just the opposite on TBD and every other forum I've been on. I'm the not the type to post in-depth analyses and long posts as I've found that most folks don't like to read them anyways. And maybe my content sucks - so be it. I've been a Sabres and Bills fan for a long time now and feel much more at ease at TBD. It is what it is.
  6. Sorry, I don't want to spend time learning how it "works" ... TBD is a much friendlier board. This is definitely a 1st for me ... a good ol' boys club on a discussion board.
  7. What's wrong with moving up, drafting the franchise guy, and playing him a la Prescott ?
  8. I'd be worried about his left knee and how durable he is when A.J. McCarron is out there.
  9. I'm not so sure Bridgewater or Bradford is the answer given their injury history. Think I'd rather see McCarron. And I doubt they get to 2 unless the Giants get another QB in free agency or they're content trading down for Jackson perhaps.
  10. Might have to move up more than 2 to get Mayfield if Cousins signs with the VIkings.
  11. If this is a precursor to moving up, they must be looking at Rosen or Mayfield. Unless they're hoping Jackson is available at #12 and they use #22 on another need. If it's Rosen, they may have to go to #2 - Mayfield, either 5 or 6 dependent on Cousins.
  12. Just read and didn't know he suffered a concussion in 2009 as well. This would be his 3rd that we know of ...
  13. If the Vikings win the Cousins sweepstakes, I think that Darnold goes to the Browns, Rosen to the Giants, Allen to the Broncos & Mayfield to the Jets possibly leaving Rudolph and Jackson to the Bills at 21/22. Jackson might be gone as well if the Cardinals/Chargers decide on a QB in the 1st. Move up and you might get who you want.
  14. I don't think it's adulation at all - IMO, it's being around the guys and the team. All of a sudden you go from really busy to not busy and there's only so much golf you can play. Not dissimilar to retiring from a corporate job after 30 years or so - except KO is only closing in on 30 and would need a plan for the next 25 years or so.
  15. Doubt they go to #2 - Giants need a Manning replacement and will want a franchise QB.
  16. Considering we had not made the playoffs in 17 years and had a coaching carousel going, we aren't exactly a FA's #1 choice either. Maybe now it's a little different, but cash is king.
  17. You may be right - I thought it was both a reaction to the meds in combination with concussion symptoms and a total loss of appetite.
  18. Why ? They would have access to the same group of FAs as the Bills.
  19. Browns movin and shakin - Kizer traded to the Packers.
  20. While this is true, KO's first reported concussion landed him in the ICU and IIRC he lost a lot of weight as well as had other symptoms. As you say, I'm sure KO will make the right decision based on expert medical opinions and the advice of his family.
  21. If I were Okposo, I'd be stepping away. Savard is still not right and KO has probably made enough $ to live comfortably and retire.
