I think Byram, who posted a 7g, 31a campaign, is only turning 24, and will be an RFA with value to other teams. He plays the left which is what everyone else on the Sabres plays and also what Novikov and Johnson play. And what Gavrikov plays. What i am saying is that I think you could trade Byram in a deal for a RHD that gives us more of what we need.

Buffalo will draft 5-9th at this point based on standings. This does not take lottery winning into account. Buffalo however has 4pts left for claims and Seattle and Pitt only 2 so Seattle overtaking Buffalo is unlikely and Pitts dropping below Buffalo more likely. Really we are probably talking about 6,7, or 8 overall.
