They figure the best way to get PIT some goals and keep the Sabres from scoring is to keep calling minor penalties on the Pens. The NHL loses out huge by not having the Pens tie/break the record vs NYR.

Food for Thought: Picks, especially picks after this years draft are going to be GOLD this summer. Teams are going to be looking to shed salary left and right. Yes, the buyouts are there, but trades let you get value for cap relief rather than relief only. Trades for picks are the only way to send salary packing without getting salary back. And we're not talking about bad deals. We're talking about OK deals that teams like VAN or PIT just can't fit under the reduced cap. Another possibility is trading Picks for Player's A & B. A being the target, and B being the guy the sabres take only to use a compliance buyout on the next day.

The NHL twitter feed just retweeted an Ott tweet: I read the first 3 "words" and about had a heart attack before i realized it was just a retweet.

If you look at all three trades together, the Sabres turned Kassian into Ott and Roy into Hodgson.

This is also why we previously have had a Rumors Thread separate from the Activity Thread. I like that set-up better.

Yeah, I really don't see how anyone could argue that the 2015 is BETTER than the 2013, but i do see how people could see the potential value in the 2015 pick.
