  1. This is a discussion for another thread (which we will have later this summer when we get bored) but I believe you way too "down" on Cody.
  2. My thoughts exactly. The very first thing I thought of was how much I hate that Heimdall fella ;)
  3. Sorry, I wasn't clear. They didn't change the rules. This was an error in the NHL 11 video game. Two-way always only applied to salary, it just also happens that a lot of guys on two way deals do not have the required age/games played to have to clear waivers.
  4. Dwight who do you think will start next season that doesn't belong in the NHL, either because they have proven it or because they are talented youngsters who will need the experience to grow (like Zemgus)?
  5. The key being NHL team. As weave said, this roster contains no AHL filler. Every man of the 20 belongs in the NHL.
  6. This is an old NHL '11 error. Two way affects salary only. Cody still has to clear waivers every time down, but 3 years at 1.5 seems like it will be just enough to prevent that from happening.
  7. Please. I need you to reassure me that we will not be a Nolan effort away from 10th in the east.
  8. We can also take heart that GMTM gives absolutely zero ###### about what we think of the signing.
  9. Assuming no on else of note heads to the island: How many more shots will the Macdonald ==> Brennan and Vanek/Moulson ==> ??? switches create? Also: Garth Snow didn't get fired.
  10. I really don't think NYI got better. compare their roster now to 2/8 (before Taveres injury, they were racing FLA for 2nd last place in the East) Pre-injury Taveres ==> Recovery Season Taveres (sidegrade/downgrade) Season of statistical anomaly Okposo ==> regular okposo (huge downgrade) Vanek/Moulson ==> ??? (huge downgrade) Andy MacDonald ==> TJ Brennan (Huge Downgrade) Nabakov (0.905 sv%) ==> Halak (probably 0.915 sv% with isles) moderate upgrade
  11. And this was a trade for a 2nd rounder in 2016 I had overlooked that before. Even better.
  12. if the salary cap is 85M in 5 years, he will be making 1.2M over league average. If he can still net 15-20 at age 36, and there is plenty of reason to believe he will, then he'll still be ok value for the deal. We'll be fine. You are absolutely right in thinking 3 or 4 years would have been better, but I think you're over playing the damage of the '19-'20 season.
  13. 13th best goal scorer since '09?
  14. makes him available for Rochester, where we're told he had a good impact on the kids.
  15. The will be attempting to make the product on the ice (as opposed to non-nhl prospects and draft picks) better from 10/9 all the way to 4/11. This is a significant and encouraging change.
  16. but we won't lose them if we have to bridge 'em. Again, 3-4 would have been better, this won't kill us.
  17. I completely agree that 3 or 4 would have been better, but no one of value will be leaving RFA before that year, so I doubt we'll need to money.
  18. Who will need that money in 5 years?
  19. He was also on the team last year, essentially we've swapped Ott for Gionta, Ehrhoff for Gorges, and Nieuvirth for Miller not much better if at all.
  20. Unfortunately, my brother is going to get to him first. So, while I had to tell him the bad news in March, his Uncle is gonna get to make his tuesday.
  21. Lindy Ruff's Tie ‏@LindyRuffsTie 1m Turns out Ville Leino is as invisible in free agency as he was on the #Sabres. got a solid chuckle out of me.
  22. We are going to be so rediculously amazing next year with Reinhart, McDavid, Eichel, Kane, and Toews. Whoever gets to play #6 in the top six is gonna be one lucky SOB.
