I literally cannot imagine a worse feeling as a hockey fan. You get nothing to be excited about for 2 years, but all your miserable pathetic team has to do is finish last and at least you FINALLY get a star player in Buffalo. The fanbase is just about at each others' throats every game, the tension and drama is incredible (which is when the Sabres remember they are a Buffalo team). They look like they are in a great spot then they blow it to ARIZONA of all teams and all 5 freaking fans they have celebrate. Maybe they can shoe Darcy 5 more times just to rub it in more. So do we want Strome or Hannifan?

Disaster was giving 4 to Arizona, and we are going to give 3 of those 4. In true Buffalo fashion, even our "loss" was softened by getting an OT point. I bet they beat Toronto 6-1 and win a "thriller" against Chicago or Pittsburgh where Lindback stops like 54 shots and they are out shot 56-20 and win 3-2.

The worst part of all is knowing that Darcy Regier and the Arizona freaking Coyotes are the team that are going to take this from us. Only in Buffalo sports do things this backwards and miserable happen I am going nuclear with my meltdown... But I blame myself. I was dumb enough to believe.

These guys are playing like it is game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals... You KNOW Nolan and these players would LOVE nothing more than to give the fans the ultimate F-U and blow this whole 2 year plan. I think we all know how this story ends. Only Buffalo sports teams can find a way to rip your heart out in a season when winning games should be totally meaningless. Freaking unreal.... BUT I do have to give them props for creativity... How can the worst team in hockey that has been totally hopeless for 2 years STILL crush its fans and tear their collective hearts out? Check and check! Well done Sabres and Nolan! You know he is loving every second of this.

Love it! Arizona just beat a playoff team on the road by scoring 5 goals... That gives me hope that we can at least split with them...

This bought us some breathing room.... now just lose Thursday and you'll be able to absorb the upcoming Toronto win and a win vs Arizona the 2nd time

You just know the Sabres are going to win those games, and it will be in a gutting fashion where they score early and there's no real hope. Something like 3-1 and 4-1. Nolan will have the Sabres playing like it's game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals while Arizona sleepwalks and scores into their own net "accidently."

I'm totally fine with two OT games vs Arizona Takes a lot of pressure off if we screw up and sweep them. They gain only 2 points, still down 2, and we can then slam the door by losing 8.

Just split with Arizona and you break their will. After all that work ANd losing to us, they beat us and nothing changes in the standings. Two games off the board for both teams. Same margin.

If/when this team slips to 29th, I would feel a LOT less bitter and angry if it were the Oilers in 30th than the Coytotes with Darcy and their 5 fans.

I think that nothing would make Nolan happier than finishing 29th as a final FU to Murray on the way out.

I just want a 100% shot at either Eichel or McDavid being on this team. Anything that gets in the way of that happening is the enemy. The reason? I want the Sabres to FINALLY have a superstar player who can lead them to a cup. Forget the heroic battle for 8th place and maybe winning a round.

HUGE to escape with only 1 point. 3 points on the Oilers and 6 on Arizona... This team just can't seem to open up any kind of cushion. The Sabres NEED to be up by at least 5 when they go into the Arizona week. That way even sweeping them won't kill us (assuming the Oilers get some points).

I am more nervous about the next 4-5 games than I would be about a playoff series.... These games are freaking HUGE... Lose them all and we might be in prime position to take a young superstar who can lead our team for a decade. Screw up and win against the Oilers and/or Devils and we could end up with the draft version of a fruit basket while two other teams get the nice sparkly prizes

Soon it will be time to forget McDavid/Eichel...It's just not going to happen. the freaking Oilers are so bad and the Sabres are going to be medicore it looks like. Soon they should consider trading their #1 picks for some big time players and just end the tank. I can't think of anything worse than getting the #3 overall pick after two years of it being like there isn't even hockey.
