Kulikov is an UFA. He is not going to be protected. He controls where he plays next season so no need to waste a protection slot on him. LV has to convince him to come there during a one week period before the draft. He is young and in his prime he isn't going to sign in LV.
Furthermore, if he continues to produce at current levels, we aren't going to re-sign either.
You may be right. But he wont be here at the expansion draft then if he's looking for so much that we won't re sign him. He would be traded at the deadline to the highest bidder. I don't want that I like him enough to keep him. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Were you comparing Foligno to Armia just in that game or in general? Regardless I've never seen Armia lift a finger and I just can't compare the two players. Did I miss something?

My perception is that Foligno and Armia played a roughly similar game. Both belong at the NHL level, and both seem like they should be capable of more than they've shown.
I don't understand this. I see those two guys and see no comparable between the two. Big boys yes but they use that entirely different. I don't believe you will ever see Armia drop the gloves and rock someone sticking up for a teammate. Do you?

Anybody on the Jets stand out in a good or bad way?
Armia stood around and did much of nothing including PP time. No Staff or Myers. Thornton suffered what looked to me like a serious shoulder injury. Your goalie sucked and was pulled halfway through the game and the Sabres are completely unable to hit an empty net form their end of the ice as proven by six attempts. The Jets are very fast team and lost.

Really hope this is a turning point for these guys. Back to 500 is where they needed to be...
I think it will be. I think they are done feeling sorry for themselves and the shock of losing Eichel and then Kane has sunk in. We still have talent and they are now realizing that we can and should win games even without them and even with a backup goalie.

These games are mostly for the kids so their parents can teach the next generation to be quiet while watching a Sabres game.
I understand but I object. The crowd was pretty good today especially coming off the shitfest we saw earlier this week.

Oddly there were more people at the last game but I think the attendance was about the same. Off topic question for you. Have you sold the Toronto game coming up? There is no market now which I don't understand but perhaps we in WNY may want that game. Particularly after we beat the peg and the wild. Weird stuff man.

Haven't read anything other than this, page 6 from this thread. I want to add my two cents about the arena experience today. Good God Almighty we had a pulse not only on the ice but in the crowd as well! It's been a long time since I've heard that much chanting in the arena and is so refershing after the last game. So what was different today. Ohhh goals and winning and such. Amazing how we fans can perform if those guys can on the ice.

No he shouldn't. He's the back up and doesn't need to play back to back days if our starter is ready to go.

Re Toronto, it's so bad here right now that even Leaf fans don't want to come and see Mathews on the cheap. I don't think I've ever seen Leaf fans stay away.

A few hundred grand isn't that big of a deal, but it does make you wonder if we could have gotten the number lower had we been willing to drag it into the season.

Going to the game it seems with some of the least enthusiasm I've ever had going to a game. Not whining but man what a way to feel for a team that you root for and this is my first game this season.

Ya. It come across as incredibly illogical.
Generally I try to accept that Bylsma has reasons for what he does, that I often am just not in a position to understand as a fan, and don't have the resources he has access to. But I struggle in this case to think anything other than his OT strategy is deeply misguided.
Poor DD. People rag on him for corsi this corsi that and he appeases them with a new strategy to maintain puck possession in ot by send the puck all the way back to our goalie and still he gets no love.

The sh** the bed in third against a team that played the night before while Sabres had four days off. I'm not into the emotional coaches but when it became a one goal game I would of blown up at the team the way they were playing. DB should have become unglued and screamed a bit. They just looked so pathetic in the last 5 minutes
I would have at least called a time out and told them to get their together.

I think we're all just expecting too much from this team. Even with Eichel and Kane, they're not a playoff team yet. For two periods they took it to the Flyers. They'll get better, we just need to be patient.
4 points on a 4 game road trip isn't terrible. Only 1 regulation loss.

There's enough talent on this team minus 27 to be legit. Hell I'd rather have Leggy back!

And so goes my question of Grant. D Lo does bring a lot of intagibles to the team. Obviously thoughh he should have limited minutes but tell me he's not teh ideal energy guy. Grant while big, and capable of winning faceoffs, has done absolutely nothing in my mind to justify being here. AHL superstar maybe but this a'int the AHL. He's not physical and doesn't score. Sit down. Look down the bench at a rested D Lo and tell him go get it done. CRASH, BANG, BOOM, POW EVEN! And he has scored in the NHL although it looks like he also may never again but there's those damn intangibles again! I have a spot on my team for him.
