  1. Moulson's hot start has already begun the question of whether or not to protect him. Right now his age and large contract are working against him, but a 30 goal season could easily change things.

    6) Moulson - good start gets him above the line?

    Unprotected:

Nobody on this board is protecting Moulson even if he gets 30 this year imo.

  2. I think it is very possible that Crosby's career is finished.

At first I thougfht that but I say no way now. The fact he spoke to the media, the fact he is already skating and seemingly days away from returning, I say no way.

  3. I can think of a lot lyrics that hit it for me and they range form rock, punk, metal, country and basically all genre of music. I like music. From AC/DC to ZZ Top. Well some Abba too but that wouldn't be cool would it lol but I got some Johnny Cash that lives forever but this one strikes me right now.

Kid Rock Cowboy I guess I just feel like an American bad ass.

Love it! You have to figure out.

    Trump!

  4. Yes indeedly, although if we can get Fowler for Nylander we have to seriously consider it.

    What else are we getting?

No, we don't have to seriously consider it. In fact, I would assume it was already considered and rejected around the draft.

As it should be. I'll give them next years first as I said previously but not Nylander.

Edm and LAK are the two team which supposedly had a bit of interest in him over the off season

I certainly would not; Nylander/a 1st > Fowler for the Sabres

I think we are all with the wookie1!

Are the odds better that Nylander becomes another Gaborik, or another Armia?

Hard to say this but it's a laughable question unless Armia has suddenly woke up. Nylander has a lot of it factor. I'll bank on him in the current version of the NHL.

  5. Yup, not sure why I thought that.

I absolutely hate admitting it, but the Jets have an exceptional Wing-stable going on. Wheeler, Laine, Ehlers, Connor. That's some HIGH end skill. Centre is another story, with almost nothing after Scheifele, but, still.

    But but but Armia?

  6. It really wasn't as bad as all the hype (anti-hype?) on this board would have you believe.

For as bad as that first period was supposed to have been, the shots ended up 8 - 6 in favor of Montreal, only, they didn't register a single shot in the last 11 minutes of that period. We had our chances.

So analytics show we weren't as bad as what my brain relayed to me while watching the game huh? Lyin eyes again I guess cause what I saw was a complete, I say complete crapfest way to start a new season with high expectations at home.

  7. The team isn't particularly good right now, and we needed to fire on all cylinders this year to have a sniff at the playoff picture.

The injury situation is probably just enough to dig a big hole we won't be able to climb out of.

On top of that, Bylsma is a horrible coach and mis-manages his players and games.  He is consistently out-coached.

He's not going to survive the season.

Other than that, yes, the doomsday picture is hilarious!

And don't forget to throw GMTM under the bus again.

I won't make light of the opening game as the condition we're in and the emotion we displayed is about as suck ass as it gets. But there are 81 regular season games left and I know that for sure.

  8. Unless we admit we are not a cusp playoff team. If one takes the pov that we are waiting for dead space to come free with Gionta, Gorges Moulson and Franson coming off the books, we are right on schedule.   :flirt:

I don't admit that. I have stated this is a playoff team. When those four contracts are off the books it's gravy.

  9. Was that Carr who got a couple whacks at Lehner while on the ice, or Shaw who scored the goal?

Either way, I don't see how his job was accomplished.

I think it was Carr. Risto took him down and out of the play. The fact the guy was able to slide around and whack Lehner a couple times was more on Gorges I believe as he left Ristos zone. Better?

  10. If you have to blame someone on the play, it has to be Risto.

I haven't looked at the second minus as closely, but I did see Gorges thrusting himself past Risto in a vain attempt to clear the crease while Risto stood idly by with no stick in his hands, no hands on his man and no desperation to block the puck on the goal line.

Whether you believe in plus/minus or not, Id say in both cases his minus was certainly deserved.

Risto did take his man down though and his job was accomplished at that point.

  11. People, there is a draft in 2017 no matter how we do. We will be making a selection regardless of whether it is high lottery or not.

I know it was started partially as a joke about the team but this thread is good. You can learn about prospects.

I don't think we will have a first round pick next year so I want no part of this .
