  1. Gorges still has a role on this team and will contribute a lot I believe. That role is not 1st pairing though of that I am sure. I would rather see McCabe there temporarily if Kuli is not ready for the ice time but I guess DD is thinking gotta have a vet.

  2. We should start the GDT early because the hockey gods abandoned us.

Abandoned us? Clearly they're angry with us and getting their jollies out of the way early at the start of the season inorder to prop us up along the way only to stab us in the heart in game # 82 no?

  3. I'm still half expecting Bylsma to keep Reinhart at wing and just slide Girgensons up (once O'Reilly is back, anyway). Hope to be wrong on that.

I actually think that is not the right thing to do. Sammy's been playing and practicing at wing. I don't want him trying to figure how to paly C in the NHL all of a sudden when game 1 is on us. May not be prudent.

Softest bunch of posters I've ever seen.

Please don't put me in the pillow puff pile.

I think Lehner carries the day first of all and he is probably ready for this more than anyone else on the team.  We have enough talent to get us through I think. Yes we need some bounces but what team doesn't? This is a bad break to be sure. One that we will overcome.

  4. I am oddly calm about this. He's young, he's limber and already in playing shape. So I will hoe for just a couple games. We've all seen football players that have been rolled over and get the scared out of them only to return a few plays later.

Of course we've also seen lengthy injuries from the same type of injury. I have been looking forward to this season for too long to have it derailed before it even begins!

    I will remain calm.

    Let's Go Buffalo.

  5. Guy was the captain of the best US WJC team in recent memory. No one talks about it on here, but the team may be see him as potentially part of our long-term leadership core.

I have and I do see him as part of the long term core. Guy is a rock, still a kid and only getting better.
